Having painted imagery in the past that was more commercially acceptable, there eventually came a point in time where I realized that an artist true genius is revealed when they dare not to please. It is difficult to categorize my style as I prefer not to be boxed in and classified, but I do like the title of Magritte’s paintings “the art of conversation”
Because the work is just that…. No specific genre , photo realism with a fusion of surrealism (a combination of reality and the unconscious) and some abstraction. am Tracey Johnson, I am the youngest in my family, I have a sister and two brothers, all exceptional, not unlike my three sons. I am a graduate of Ontario Collage of Art, Toronto. I am a full time artist.

me and YOU represents my evolution. “me” refers to me the artist, the creator and you the viewer the audience. also refers to me, the thinker and you, my thoughts. have expressed my vision, and sensitivities to you, the paintings may look a certain way but your subconscious attaches meaning to it. body of work deals with the inner workings of the subconscious that is often mysterious, surprising , personal and hidden. Each piece is created from an image I photographed that initially resonated with me on many levels.
