KATRINA CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL August 2–7 2010 This year´s Katrina festival presents experiment and tradition in instrumental and vocal ensembles in fantastic settings, including the new Alandica Hall and Sankt Göran Church in Mariehamn, Kastelholm Castle in Sund, Havsvidden in Geta And Sankt Mikael Church in Finström. Works of the jubilee composers Schumann and Chopin feature prominently on the programmes of the dozen concerts of the week. Our guest composer Lucio Garau will be presented in workshops and concerts. There's something going on from morning till late evening – including the novelty of the year, breakfast concerts at the lovely Bagarstugan café in Mariehamn. The artists include, among others, cellist Alexander Rudin, violinist Pekka Kuusisto, Tempera Quartet, soprano Mari Palo, pianist Marianna Shirinyan, nyckelharpist Torbjörn Näsbom and accordionist Veli Kujala.
