48 THE BEST DISTRIBUTION IN TOWN

O

ur first priority in producing Society Living every month is, like any quality publication, to provide the editorial content that has made the magazine the definitive society and lifestyle guide on the Coast. Just as important, however, is our second priority: making sure the distribution is effective, efficient and reviewed on an ongoing basis – which is every day when the latest issue has just been released or when mid-month replenishments are required. To that end, the distribution is meticulously controlled by a specialist inhouse team, and there is close and regular liaison with the outlets to ensure copies are not left languishing in slowly-diminishing piles or semi-abandoned in doorways. Society Living is, effectively, “handdelivered”, which is convenient for readers and of maximum benefit for advertisers. This past month, for example, we learned to our delight that the distribution – fine-tuned to take into account Easter – had resulted in increased business for advertisers from tourists and visitors, a clear sign our efforts in this

respect were well-directed. We have also noticed in recent months that the magazine is being picked up faster than ever, perhaps a result of other publications falling foul of the financial crisis and not being able to survive winter. The success of Society Living – and its three-monthly Beautiful Home sister, which was combined in a bumper issue in April and will return in July – has also enabled us to continue upgrading the content, with the popular regular sections complemented by new faces, places, trends and news. This month, for example, we welcome Tracy Anderson to the contributors’ team, revealing the secrets behind her revolutionary fitness methods for celebrity clients; while poker supremo ‘‘Marbella Slim’’ offers valuable tips on how to get into the action – whether you are a beginner or a more experienced hand at the game. We hope you enjoy this latest issue, which has a bright and fun spring theme while also offering a glamour-tinged preview of summer, something we are all longing for after the unprecedented rainy season – and volcano ash!
