While Ben is sure to understand the information covered in class, he also creates a fun learning environment for everyone in the class and always has a positive attitude. His unwavering commitment to service not only enriches the lives of those he touches, but also inspires those around him to strive for excellence in both personal and academic endeavors.

e avan g ar D ner
Eavan Gardner is an outstanding student, enthusiastic participant in campus life, and a fantastic mentor to his peers. A member of the William Woods University Honors program, his self-designed honors research project, “The Effects of Urbanization on Pathogenic Landscapes in Flora Population,” included extensive research and has been accepted for presentation to the Missouri Academy of Science at its yearly state meeting. In addition, his research was chosen for an oral presentation on the same topic for this year’s William Woods Symposium for Research and Scholarship. He has also worked as a volunteer tutor in the student success center where he has helped numerous students understand biology and chemistry.
Deeply involved on campus, Eavan has been a member of multiple clubs and has initiated numerous LEAD events. Standout involvement includes helping with several philanthropy events
and highway cleanups, becoming active in the Inter-Fraternity Council and helping run 2022 fraternity recruitment, all through his membership in Phi Gamma Delta. With his skills in conflict resolution, he has been a marvelous Community Assistant (CA) since his sophomore year, and is a member of the Sexuality and Gender Alliance on campus, which is dedicated to creating safe spaces for students through education. He has also served as a peer educator where he has created programming based on sexual health, mental health, and consent, and for bystander intervention programs on campus. A fixture in the theater department as a member of the Jester's Theater Company, he is active in mainstage theater productions, and even directed the Jester’s play, “Bad Auditions by Bad Actors.”
Throughout his outstanding involvement of campus life, Eavan has maintained a GPA of 3.9, earning him acceptance into the campus chapters of three nationally recognized honor societies: Alpha Chi (academic excellence and exemplary character); Alpha Psi Omega (theatre), and Beta Beta Beta (biology).
