WESLACO’S NEW ENGINE HOUSE IGNITES EXCITEMENT The City of Weslaco initiated a new chapter for the Weslaco Fire Department and opened a brand-new fire station on 711 E. Railroad St. A ribbon cutting was held on September 27th, 2023, for Fire Station #2, which has been in the works since 2019. Mayor David Suarez, the Weslaco City Commission, Fire Chief Antonio Lopez, and city staff worked together to provide Weslaco residents with a modernized, state-ofthe-art building that can house 15 firefighters and serve Weslaco for the next 100 years.
