Center Highlights THE LEGENDARY CHAZZ PALMINTERI comes to the Center with his one-man play that started it all! Before it became a hit Broadway musical or a feature film co-starring Robert DeNiro, Palminteri wrote and performed his autobiographical story, A Bronx Tale, bringing 18 characters to vivid life in the gripping tale of a rough childhood on the Bronx streets. The Hollywood Reporter calls A Bronx Tale “Touching, strong, honest, extraordinary,” and the Los Angeles Times says it’s “A raucous tour de force.” At the age of 9, Palminteri witnessed the murder of a mobster in front of his apartment building. When the police questioned him, he denied that he had seen the crime. Palminteri turned this into a Broadway hit which was seen by Robert De Niro, and the two collaborated to turn the show into a successful film, with De Niro directing and Palminteri starring as the mobster Sonny, who he had met as a child. In 2018 this coming-of-age story was turned into a musical. From that long-ago childhood experience, Palminteri became an actor and went on to garner more than 50 film credits, including his Academy-nominated role in Bullets Over Broadway, The Usual Suspects, Analyze This and more. You will not want to miss this tour-de-force performance as Palminteri comes full circle with his original one-man show. RENÉE AND HENRY SEGERSTROM CONCERT HALL Date: April 2 | Tickets: $39 and up
