YOUTH VILLAGES Welcome to our monthly section in which we highlight local charities and nonprofits of all kinds that are doing great things in our city. We believe change can come in all sizes and at all times. The smallest act can turn around so much for even just one person, animal or place. If we can lift up one small aspect of one life, imagine what we can all do when we come together for the greater good of the people in this amazing city. Let’s continue highlighting the Oklahoma Standard, together.
This year, Youth Villages has helped more than 30,000 young people & their families.
As of 2018, 88% of the children are still living successfully at home with their families.
Youth Villages has programs and services across 20 states.
They serve kids of all ages, but 39% of them are 15-17 years old.
Every child deserves at least a chance, and Youth Villages is giving just that. Youth Villages provides stability and support to families to help any child succeed. They’re providing help for children who face a wide range of emotional, mental and behavioral problems. They’re working to find solutions using proven treatment models that strengthen the child’s family and support systems and dramatically improve their long-term success. They offer options like in-home treatment, Project Safe Place, LifeSet and more. They want to help students find suitable and stable housing, work on communication skills within the family home, finish high school or earn a GED, access community resources, apply for medical insurance and seek physical and mental health services, learn money management skills, and establish lifelong connections with caring adults. They’re doing whatever they can to step up and help our youth flourish, no matter their circumstance, and give them a fighting chance at succeeding in life.
