eSports offers students an exhilarating platform to engage in competitive gaming on an international stage, specifically through the online FUSE Cup. Participants will have the chance to compete globally in popular games such as Just Dance, Mario Kart, and Rocket League, showcasing their skills against peers from around the world. The initial phase of the programme involves training and running trials over the first few weeks to hone their gaming prowess. Following this, two teams will be selected to represent their school or institution in the competition. This opportunity isn’t just about gaming; it’s a call to be part of a fun, strategic, and collaborative community that values skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship. So, if you are passionate about gaming and eager to test your abilities in a global arena, be a part of the excitement in eSports!

Students go to the Warhammer club to engage in model building and painting activities. Participants have the option to bring their own models or work on club-provided models. With the next season of gaming commencing in May, it’s crucial for students to begin forming teams and dedicating time to practice both building and competing. This year, SMGS is proud to host the Southern NSW competition, presenting a fantastic opportunity for participants to showcase their skills and potentially progress to the national level. Term 1 - Printmaking. Art Club this term will cover the Printmaking Art Works of Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Sybil Andrews. We will explore their use of line, portraiture and design in their Lino prints and inspire the students to produce a Henri Matisse self portrait of themselves. The students will also look at his simplicity and use of line and how a one colored print can look dynamic as a print itself. The students will then delve into the art form of wood block prints and produce a print designed from recycled wood blocks and newly designed small Lino cuts creating an A3 sized Colored Print which will truly look spectacular. Student will also create a small textile print combing Lino print with fabric. This truly should not be missed for all of our young art enthusiasts.

In Upbeat Ukulele students will learn all aspects of ukulele playing, including chord reading, strumming and plucking patterns, and melody playing (ranging from tunes of popular songs to classical music) arranged for ukulele. Ukuleles are provided by the school and students are also welcome to bring their own instrument along to rehearsals. Ukuleles are provided.
