The location of the site was far away from the city of Bangalore, situated almost in middle of a farm with an adjacent access road. Seeing the location of the plot, the house needs to be self sufficient as far as energy is concerned.
The basic principles of Sustainable design was considered
1)Passive Heating - Sunpath or Solar Geometry was considered, the house was cardinally oriented, where the common areas and open spaces are facing north for a glare free light.
2)Passive cooling - The trees are planted on the south side guarding the rooms. The sun shading is done by overhanging windows.
plored for the particular building and house was made load-bearing seeing the abundance of teak wood in the particular area. However skilled labour is still a quest.
5)Construction Techniques: Rattrap bond for insulation is used in bricks or Stone. Filler slab technique was used, which is a cost efficient technique to acquire a desired curve.
3)Daylight - The dome on top is provided to naturally light the interiors by Furnace outlet as well as covering-it with toughened glass dome on the flat puncture.
3)Design and Spaces:Facing the courtyard in north made a glare free space just outside home.
4)Material Selection: The principles of Vernacular Architecture was fused with latest sustainable options and methods. Vernacular Architecture. Locally available material was used like laterite Stone for flooring as well as walls Timber for trusses,. Vernacular architecture was ex-

The building had several issues with ownerships and boundaries of the plot, which needed to be resolved and a viable design proposal was to be made. Finally, only a part of the building was needed to be demolished and redeveloped, which constrained the design parameters .
The design had lot of challenges regarding orientation, since the site abutted NH4, the front of the site faced which was the front side, were the problem of south side sun was to be dealt with. Also the toilets of the room needed to be accommodated on front facade.
The south side elevation was designed to appear like box windows and also fins were provided to direct the sunlight, throughout the intense heat hours.

The clients demand was to create a house of contemporary design, yet the spaces and furniture needed to be of traditional.
Passive heating was taken in to consideration and all the bedrooms were and windows were opened on north, east and west. South side had the provision for AC compressors. And small blinded slits for lighting.
The exterior was made totally contemporary style on clients demand, and it was enhanced by various sized windows all facing north.
The furniture was in traditional style and dimensions, for eg:- the clients habit was to sit with folded legs on dining table, so a unique table was designed for same.
Specially the dining table which was to be made in order to sit with folded legs, so was the low height table and small stools.

The Ministry Of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India (GOI) has taken up multiple capacity building programmes in making Urban Transportation sustainable. IBI Group studied the sustainable concepts in detail, combining lessons learned from previous experiences on similar projects around the world while keeping in mind India’s Unique conditions.
To further validate the findings, IBI prepared City Specific Plans for two selected demonstration cities per concept.
Various sites across India were selected for Pilot Study for Non- Motorised Transport, Public Bike Sharing and transit oriented development. TOD - Mumbai and Bhopal NMT-Aizwal and Vishakapattanam PBS - Vadodara and Gurugram

Mumbai TOD
Was involved in City Specific TOD Plan - for Mumbai, Did documentation work, made drawings and graphical representations of the station area plans, sections and 3d Model.
Also for the other cities maps and graphical representation were made doing research on said topic, under the guidance of the senior Urban planner from IBI Group. Aizwal & Vizag NMT, Vadodara PBS maps and sections were schemed.

Hubli Dharwad City Plan was in initial stages of inception report. Mapping Atlas was a part of understanding the region and boundaries. The data was collected from various government resources and were overlapped to create maps. Layers from Arch GIS, Google earth, government agencies, government journals etc. in various formats was collected.
