Focusoftheprojectistogivebackthelostgloryofthetemplepremisesat Pandharpur.eprojectalsofocusesonredevelopingandrezoningtheentirespline corridorofthetemple,keepingthetempleasaconstantfactorandthesurrounding sensitivitycontextinmind.
DesignSolution:Multipurposespacesandbuildingswere designedfortheephemeralchaosofthepilgrims,lastingfora month,forwhichprovisionsmadeareotherwisenoteconomical. Thedilapidatedstructureswererestoredandwereconservedas heritagebuildingsforpublicpurposes.Moduleofmultipurpose accommodationwasproposed.Designsolutionwasgivento openuptheselogjams.

Thetemplewasredesignedandthe mostconsiderableissuewasnaturallightingand ventilation.
Theseeinghescaleofthebuildingandthe crowdinowandoutow,aclosedstructurewas impossiblewhichwouldneedarti��cialventilation, thuscomplicatingthebuildingservicesand maintenanceshenceforth.Thetemplewaskept openfromallthesidesandashadingoverhang wasprovidedwithperipheralverandatofacilitate theair,allowingittoowthroughoutthestructures. Moreover,windtowerwerecamouageinthe traditionaltempleembellishments.
Themesswasalsoasimilarkindofstructure, whichwasenergyconsuming.Sothewhole elevationwasworkedouttoaccommodatePhoto VoltaicPanel,togenerateelectricityandtominimize itsreliabilityonmunicipalpowersupply. Fewotherstructuresalsofollowedthesimilarpattern. MaximumenergywasgeneratedfromsolarPV cellsandcentralizedbatteriesandgeneratorswere placedonthesite.
Sustainabilitywasthemainfocusofthedesign.ehugetemple structuresectionneededtobeventilatedandnaturallylit. Alsootherbuildingstructurewithhugecapacity(themess)waspaneledwithphotoVoltaiccellsthroughouttheelevation.
ANNACHATRA(DININGHALL)
Annachatraisaplacewerepeoplearegivenfoodforfreefromthe donationsaccepted. Onanaveragedaily700to800visitorsareservedforwhichahallbelow theofficeblockisused.

-Functionofnagarkhanaaresecuritywatchtowerand lockerroomsbelowforpilgrimstodeposittheir footwares,mobilephonesandothersuchvaluableswhich arentallowedinsidethetemplepremises.
-Thenagarkahanawillactasthemaingatewithlocker roomsforthepilgrimswhowillbetherejusttovisitthe templeinforonedayorcoupleofhours. Italsomakesthegrnadentrncedoorthemahadwarwhich willbeplacedappropriatetothenameoftheghat.

DesignPhilosophy
AresortwasthemedtocreateaGoan Portuguesestyleofarchitecture.Theconstruction wasdoneusinglocalsustainablematerial.Takingin toconsiderationthecoldclimateofLoavala,stones whichprovidemaximuminsulationwasused,along withtimber,tocreatealoadbearingstructure.
The GoanPortuguesestyleofembellishmentsonthe elevationandalsotheinteriors.
Hightedtreesdenselyplantedonthesouthside shadesmaximumsite.
TheRestaurantandbanquettehallwasdesigned usingthevaultsforcolumlessspans.
Thecottageswerecreatedtohaveanexterior patios,aligningtheperipheryofanellipse, overlookingthecentralwater-body.
Onanotherwerelivelygardenspacesandmaze werecreated.Italsohadminibanquettesinhe circularcolossus.
elocationandprojectrequirementsweretakenintoconsiderationandathemeresort wascreated.edesignhadintricatedesignofinteriorsandtheexteriorsaswelltoreplicate aGaon-Portuguesefeelsincetheconstructiontechniquestobeusedwasloadbearinginthe brief.
Thesitehasslopeattheedges.The��nishoftheoorandsite,itsdesign wasmadepermeablebyusingcoarsestone,takingintoconsideration thewatershortageofthehillyarea.Asitedrainagelayoutwasdesigned todrainoffthewaterandharvestitandreturnedbacktotheground table.
