Congrats to Caitlin Andrews Steffien and Derek Steffien ‘05 on the birth of their son, William Alger, who was born Sept. 12, weighing in at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. They are all doing great and enjoying life as a family of three!

Taylor Oda and Brett Everhart were married on Nov. 4, 2017, in Honolulu. Fellow Tartans joining in the celebration included maid of honor Alexandra Aghajanian, bridesmaids Kristin Collier Petersen and Joanna Feige Avery and groomsman Kyle Oda ’08, along with Georgina Lean ’09, Cameron Petersen, Jason Hiller, Scott DeYoung ’08, Lauren Collier Gilbert ’08 and Marissa Adamany ’07. Taylor and Brett live in San Juan Capistrano, where Taylor owns her own insurance agency, Taylor Oda State Farm Agency.
Danielle Blaney Wells ‘86 The Tartan family was saddened by the passing of alumna Danielle Blaney Wells, St. Margaret’s Class of 1986, on November 11, 2017, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her in the St. Margaret’s community. Danielle was the first class valedictorian in the school’s historic inaugural Upper School graduation, and a member of the cross country team. After graduation, she matriculated to the University of California, Berkeley where she earned her bachelors in economics, graduating in 1990. She would later earn a Masters of Accountancy from San Jose State University in 1998. Danielle’s career in the financial and accounting industry spanned more than 15 years, with experience in the “Big Four” accounting firms. Most recently she was VP of finance and controller for Guckenheimer, a Silicon Valley leader in the food-services industry. She traveled extensively and was a triathlete, runner and snow skier. Danielle is survived by her husband, Joe Wells, of San Carlos, her parents Bill and Annette Blaney, and brother John Blaney ‘90. She will forever be a symbol of academic distinction and success for her alma mater.

Nearly 40 Tartans gathered in November at El Adobe in San Juan Capistrano for a festive 10th Reunion. Special thanks to Jenna Clark, Vander Corliss, Olivia Saladino and Justin Swanson. Congrats go out to Kate Lanni Giacopelli and Chad Giacopelli on the birth of their son, Cody James, who just celebrated his first birthday on Dec. 5. Hallie Mayer missed the reunion, but is enjoying her stint in China as a holiday caroler for Hong Kong Disneyland.
