Spring Newsletter

Strength + Strategy = Sustainability Smart Picks for
Spring always feels like a season of fresh starts a natural reminder to pause, reflect, and reset As the first quarter of 2025 wraps up, I’ve been spending time thinking about sustainability: not just in terms of growth, but in how we build organizations and lives that can adapt, endure, and thrive, even when the road ahead feels uncertain
The changes in the political landscape have made me question the nonprofit industry and how organizations will be able to continue to make an impact Reflecting on the lessons learned during the 2008 recession and more recently during the pandemic, it's clear that the organizations that survived and even thrived were those willing to embrace out-of-the-box thinking, prioritize fiscal responsibility, and adopt agile strategies in response to rapidly shifting environments These moments in history reminded us that creativity, collaboration, and adaptability are not optional they're essential. As we navigate this current period of uncertainty, organizations with strong internal systems and a commitment to regularly reviewing and refining their strategies will be best positioned to weather this storm and continue delivering meaningful impact Whether you’re navigating a new business challenge or fine-tuning your strategy, I hope this newsletter gives you a little inspiration as we head into Q2.

Beyond the Ask: Strengthening Fundraising Infrastructure

Fundraising isn’t just about making the ask it’s about having the right systems in place to support long-term growth. Over the past few months, I’ve been working with a client project managing the development of their fundraising strategy, ensuring they have the right tools, systems, and partnerships to build a sustainable approach.
Here’s what we’ve been focusing on:
Organizing Donor Data
A strong fundraising strategy starts with clean data I helped streamline their Constant Contact database, removing outdated contacts and segmenting lists to ensure targeted communication This step helps improve donor engagement and outreach effectiveness
Researching the Right CRM
Choosing the right CRM is crucial for donor management and fundraising success I researched options that align with their budget and needs, helping them move toward a system that will improve donor tracking and relationship management
Partnering for Growth
To support their fundraising goals, we connected with a consultant specializing in fundraising strategy development This includes grant writing, prospect list development, and overall strategic planning key elements in diversifying revenue streams and securing sustainable funding
The Takeaway
Successful fundraising is more than just asking for donations it requires the right systems, tools, and partnerships
