Finally, we at SME Channels could pull out a wonderful show - SME Channels Conclave and Awards 2017. This year it has been the most entertaining and quality event where we had 100 top partners across the country who received the award of Super100 Partners for their performance. Along with this, we also had more than 35 Product Awards and top SME Entrepreneur Awards. The event reached its peak when top CMOs of the industry joined in and received the awards of Enterprise IT CMO 2017 from eminent personalities of the industry.

When the first half was filled with knowledge sharing through perspectives from industry’s leading CIOs and CTOs including Puneet Kaur Kohli, Group Executive Vice President IT & CTO - Bajaj Capital Limited, Dr. JS Sodhi, Vice President & CIO-Amity Education Group and Executive DirectorCyborg Cyber Forensics & Information Security Pvt Ltd. The interesting aspect of the knowledge session was when the panelist including Tushar Parekh, Chairman, ISODA, Marthesh Nagendra, Country Manager, India and SAARC, NETGEAR, Saket Kapur, General Secretary, PCAIT, Dr. Sunil Gupta, CIO, Ministry of Steel - Economic Research Unit and Puneet Kaur Kohli, CTO, Bajaj Finance equivocally spoke about how the partners should take up the journey of cloud computing for the growth of their bottom-line. However, there were views that suggested that there would remain a breed of partners who will carry on with their legacy business, which is also growing.

So my sincere gratitude to all the resource persons mentioned about for their participation.

The belly dancers and musicians from the Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan finally made the entire event gorgeous and took it to a level which only global event organisers could imagine of doing so.

HPE Releases OneSphere, Multi-Cloud Management SaaS Solution Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced OneSphere, a SaaS-based, multi-cloud management solution that, according to the company, provides a unified experience across public clouds, on-premises private clouds and software-defined infrastructure.

Through its software-as-a-service (SaaS) portal, HPE OneSphere provides customers access to a pool of IT resources that spans the public cloud services they subscribe to, as well as their on-premises environments. HPE OneSphere is designed for IT operations, developers, and

business executives seeking to build clouds, deploy applications, and gain insights faster.

HPE OneSphere’s multi-cloud strategy – enabling the solution to be used with any public cloud provider – is designed to dramatically simplify operations.

The solution works across virtual machines, containerized workloads, and bare metal applications, so internal stakeholders can compose hybrid clouds capable of supporting both traditional and cloud-native applications. Delivered as a service, HPE OneSphere provides users with a single point to access all their applications and data from anywhere. Through it, users can build private clouds and connect public cloud resources, resulting in a virtual resource pool.

eScan retains Gold Partnership with Microsoft

Akamai Technologies has released its ” Third Quarter, 2017 State of the Internet / Security” Report which reveals that web application attacks continued to rise significantly in both the quarter-overquarter and year-over-year timeframes.

The report found that the number of web application attacks last quarter (Q3 2017) increased 69% in total from the same timeframe last year (Q3 2016). In the last quarter alone, web application attacks rose 30% as compared to the second quarter of 2017. Over the last year, a 217% increase in attacks sourcing from the U.S. was seen, with an increase of 48% in the last quarter as compared to the prior one.

McAfee has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire cloud security company Skyhigh Networks. The move comes less than eight months after McAfee established itself as one of the world’s leading pure-play cybersecurity companies, dedicated to being the preferred cybersecurity partner to customers.

Skyhigh Networks and McAfee will complement each other’s portfolio and mission, allowing customers to modernize their cybersecurity environments and protect their most valuable asset – data – as it moves to the cloud.

This strategic combination will establish the leading company to provide the cybersecurity architecture of the future, with endpoint and cloud as the critical control points, linked by the security operations center with actionable threat intelligence, analytics and orchestration, and enabled by an open ecosystem.

Mphasis Picks Fortinet for Network Protection Mphasis has selected Fortinet Security Fabric solutions to deliver high-performance, advanced threat protection to its network spanning 8 locations in India and servicing over 22,000 corporate users, it has been announced by Fortinet.

Mphasis was conducting a network infrastructure upgrade and wanted to consolidate primary firewall capabilities across all its datacenters, including client and other indirect business networks. The company also wanted to take this opportunity to modernize and utilize advanced security features to enable business in a more secure and controlled way to drive user-based policies supporting new cloud-hosted application access.To meet compliance, Mphasis needed to segment and secure every customer’s network with an enterprise firewall. This was cumbersome to configure on Mphasis’ previous security technology. Epson Inks Sponsorship Deal with Bengaluru FC Epson has announced a sponsorship deal with famous Indian football club Bengaluru FC (BFC) to become the football clubs Official Printing and Imaging Partner. This will be Epson’s first association with a football club in India. Bengaluru FC is participating in the Indian Super league (ISL) 2017-18 for the first time.

The agreement, which starts immediately, sees Epson, one of the leading manufacturers of printers, projectors and robots worldwide, have a brand presence on the Bengaluru FC (BFC) jersey sleeve. Epson will also supply Bengaluru FC with its printers and projectors to be used at the club and training facilities. ZyxelMulty X Clinches Silver Award at Taiwan Excellence Awards Zyxel Communications has again received top honors at the annual Taiwan Excellence Awards. Eight Zyxel products took awards at the annual event, including the prestigious Silver Award for the Multy X Tri-band WiFi System. Zyxel has now won Excellence Awards over 13 consecutive years, raising the company’s total tally of award-winning products to 83.

Established in 1992, the Taiwan Excellence Awards recognize products that showcase innovation in Taiwan to a worldwide community. Veeam Releases New Console to Manage BaaS and

DRaaS Veeam Software has announced the immediate availability of the new Veeam Availability Console, a free management console for service providers delivering Veeam-powered services, such as Backup as a Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as a service (DRaaS), to more efficiently manage, track and invoice for these services.

In addition, the Veeam console expands opportunities for resellers and new managed service providers (MSPs) looking to launch a managed backup service business to capture new revenue streams. Veeam Availability Console can also be used by distributed enterprises operating in an IT service delivery model and wanting to offer efficient, centrally managed backup, data protection and disaster recovery services across a distributed multi-cloud environment including on-premises or private cloud, public cloud, remote and branch offices (ROBO), as well as mobile or home workforces.

As cloud adoption grows, the ability to deliver, manage, and monitor IT infrastructure can be difficult. Veeam Availability Console simplifies this and allows Veeam service providers to add value.

Sophos embeds Deep Learning in Intercept X Early Access Program Sophos announced that deep learning driven malware detection is now available through its Intercept X early access program. This deep learning capability has been developed using technology from Invincea, acquired by Sophos in February 2017.

First released in September 2016, Sophos Intercept X is a next-generation endpoint security product that stops zero-day malware, blocks all exploit techniques known today and includes an advanced anti-ransomware feature that can stop both known and unknown ransomware variants within seconds. Deployed through the cloud-based management platform Sophos Central, Intercept X can be installed alongside existing endpoint security software from any vendor, immediately boosting endpoint protection by stopping malicious code before it can do harm.

Announces Winners of APAC Partner Awards

SAP India Organises Code Week to Upskill Indian Youth Reaffirming its commitment to empower youth and students with technical proficiency, SAP recently organized Code Week, an initiative to upskill and instill creative thinking abilities in more than 50,500 youth from 390 centers across India. Code Week was executed under the aegis of Code Unnati, India’s first Corporate to Citizen, multi-year, collaborative digital literacy and software skills development initiative launched by SAP earlier this year, in association with ITC and Larsen & Toubro Public Charitable Trust.

“Digital literacy is the key to creating meaningful and new employment opportunities and bridging the digital divide among rural youth.” said Deb Deep Sengupta, President and Managing Director, SAP Indian subcontinent. “We made a humble beginning with Code Unnati earlier this year collaborating with several like-minded partners. The Code Week is an aim to continue this initiative by empowering students and young citizens to contribute by creating new tools and skilling opportunities that can be a catalyst in our digital transformation agenda.”

Code Week consists of technological training for students to impart programming skills that can enable them to develop apps on their own. The week-long activity which culminated in an intensive 24-hour multi-city hackathon on creating apps, was aimed towards economic development. For undertaking the sessions, close to300 computer instructors were tutored by 60 master trainers.

An extensive curriculum for this training included programming techniques such as SAP BUILD & Graphical programming, algorithm and flow-chart development, creative constructions along with problem solving skills. In addition to this, students were trained in programming language, concepts & applications.

Through our distributor BrightStar we have access to 300+ resellers. We also plan to hire another distributor to cover Sothern India.
