Tying a Bow on the Holiday Season

THE Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center hosted the city’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on the Terrace Theater Plaza. The 50-foot tree, billed as the tallest tree in Long Beach, was covered entirely in decorations and lights, which turned on to the backdrop of fireworks launched from the top of the Terrace Theater. The entire plaza was decorated for the Holidays, which included giant Christmas ornaments that made for the perfect selfie opportunity. They decorated the giant Plaza fountain with floating LED Christmas Trees. Holiday songs could be heard playing from the permanent speaker system, playing music synchronized with dancing water fountains. A small train for children, a Choir, and a brass band were also brought in for the celebration. The latest addition to the décor was a giant 80-foot long LED lit red bow that was placed atop the theater and lit up at the same time the tree and fireworks went off. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and several elves also made appearances to take pictures with the many children in attendance. Mayor Robert Garcia hosted the well-attended free annual event sponsored by the LBCVB and ASM Global.
