When Liz was a little girl growing up in North Carolina, she fell in love with desserts. She always said she wanted to be a baker when she grew up but Liz’s family thought it was a phase that she would grow out of over the years. After working in advertising sales for a number of years, Liz knew she wanted to get back into baking more regularly, and be in the kitchen more and more. So in 2007, Liz decided to bring her own nostalgic influences and appreciation for elegance and presentation to Batter Cupcakes, a company she founded, which is based in Vail, Colorado. Five years later, baking is still not a phase for Liz. She lives and bakes in Vail, and provides delicious and gorgeous cupcakes to a number of specialty food stores in the Vail Valley. Liz also caters for weddings, and does custom orders for baby showers, birthday parties, and corporate events. Batter Cupcakes was featured on The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Season 4, “Year of the Cupcake” episode, the only company in Colorado to have appeared on the show.
