Alumasc Swistherm External Wall Insulation System - Newbuild • When to Specify A lightweight, thin coat external wall insulation (EWI) system primarily suited to newbuild applications. Swistherm has been designed to assist buildings achieve desired thermal performance levels whilst providing cotemporary aesthetics. This direct-fix system can be installed using a choice of insulation materials to meet u-value requirements and building regulations and is compatible with Alumasc’s range of decorative coatings and brick-effect finishes.

Applications ▪ For newbuild applications, where the structure provides continuous support for the insulation slabs ▪ Also suitable for refurbishment projects ▪ For unrestricted use on buildings up to 18 metres and high rise applications, subject to Alumasc’s High Rise policy

Performance ▪ BBA approved, fully warranted system with an effective life of 30 years ▪ Manufactured to ISO9001:2008 and ISO14001:2004 Quality and Environmental Management standards ▪ Weather resistant, whilst remaining vapour permeable ▪ Allows the fabric of the building to act as a heat store, increasing thermal efficiency ▪ Eliminates cold bridging, condensation and mould growth ▪ Reduces heating costs and carbon dioxide emissions ▪ Protects the structural fabric, limiting movement and thermal shock and freeze-thaw cycles associated with traditional brickwork façades ▪ Highly resistant to impact damage, up to category I in accordance with ETAG 004 ▪ The system has a Class O surface spread of flame and can achieve A2 non-combustability as per BS EN 13501-1. High rise applications are subject to the Alumasc High Rise Policy

Technical & Project Support ▪ Site surveys, detail design meetings, project specific elevation colour schemes, CAD drawings and product samples, tenant involvement programmes ▪ Detailed project specifications and health and safety and product data sheets ▪ Thermal calculations, condensation risk analysis and wind loading calculations (for high rise projects)
