When I left my home and my family I was no more than a grub And I hitched a ride with strangers To come and see the world and all the lives it shared. Scuttling round, hunting for a loose tortilla Or a shard of peppermint Not a picky eater, I’ll take what I can get Asking only for some veggies Maybe some corn-on-the-cob But I get no such luck Just the same old dust and lint that used to cling to you I do declare there were times when I was so hungry I ate Bates’ Fresh Basil Mhmmm
