2025 Anacortes Arts Festival

Welcome to the 2025 Anacortes Arts Festival!

As the vibrant heart of Fidalgo Island pulses with creativity, we extend our greetings to everyone joining us for our 64th annual celebration of art, culture, and community. Whether you’re a long-time local enjoying a cherished tradition or a first-time visitor discovering the magic of Anacortes, we are thrilled to have you join us for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend. The Anacortes Arts Festival began in 1962 as a humble vision by Dr. Jack Papritz and a dedicated group of community arts patrons. Inspired by the open-air cafes and artistic spirit of Montmartre in Paris, they dreamed of bringing a similar vibrancy to our charming island town. From those early days, with simple A-frame displays and a small budget, the Festival has blos-

somed into one of the largest and most respected arts events in the Northwest, attracting an estimated 80,000-100,000 visitors each year. It’s a testament to the enduring power of art and the incredible spirit of volunteerism that has sustained us for over six decades.

A must-see for every art enthusiast, is the Fine Art Show, proudly returning to the historic Depot Arts Center this year. Located just two blocks east of the main Festival thoroughfare at 611 R Avenue, the Depot Arts Center provides a beautiful and fitting backdrop for this exceptional exhibition. Here, you’ll discover a curated collection of contemporary fine art from over 100 regional artists, showcasing a diverse range of 2D and 3D mediums. Our esteemed juror, Daniel

Wallace, Executive Director of the Northwest Designer Craftartists, has meticulously selected 131 stunning pieces for this year’s exhibition, ensuring a truly captivating experience. The Fine Art Show opens early, on July 26th, so you have even more time to immerse yourself in this impressive display of talent. Don’t miss the opportunity to witness the cutting edge of Northwest art and perhaps even take home a piece that speaks to your soul.

Beyond the walls of the Depot Arts Center, our downtown streets transform into an expansive openair gallery, featuring over 220 juried booth artists. Wander through the bustling thoroughfares, from 10th to 3rd Streets, and engage directly with the talented creators behind the extraordinary works on display. From intricate jewelry and handcrafted ceramics to breathtaking paintings and unique sculptures, there’s a treasure to be found around every corner. Our booth artists represent the backbone of this festival, bringing their passion and skill to life right before your eyes. Take your time, chat with the artists, and discover the stories behind their creations.

Of course, no festival is complete without incredible food and lively music, and the Anacortes Arts

Festival delivers on both fronts! Fuel your artistic exploration with a delicious array of regional and ethnic food trucks and vendors scattered throughout the festival grounds. From savory to sweet, there’s something to satisfy every craving. And as you stroll, shop, and savor, let the rhythms move you. We’re delighted to feature two stages of free entertainment daily, showcasing a diverse lineup of local and regional musicians. Whether you prefer folk, rock, jazz, or something in between, you’ll find a tune that resonates. Be sure to check the schedule in this guide for performance times and locations. And for those looking to relax and refresh, our beer gardens and wine bars offer the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the festive atmosphere.

The Anacortes Arts Festival is more

BANKING FOR PEOPLE, NOT FOR PROFIT.

WE ARE WECU.

than just an event; it’s a vibrant celebration of art, community, and the breathtaking beauty of Fidalgo Island. This weekend reflects our collective appreciation for creativity and shared experiences. Our team and our volunteers have worked tirelessly to create a welcoming and inspiring environment for everyone, including a dedicated youth area for our younger attendees to explore their own artistic talents.

Thank you for being a part of the 2025 Anacortes Arts Festival. We hope you enjoy every moment, discover something new, and leave with a heart full of artistic inspiration and lasting memories. Welcome, and let the celebration begin!

She has always had a passion for drawing, and after earning an Arts degree she started selling her artwork part time in 2013. Currently, with family in tow, she and her husband Jarred both work full time for their art business - Canyon & Cove Art - where they sell her artwork both retail and wholesale in many forms including fine art prints, originals, & a variety of stationery goods.

Megan’s artwork is primarily done with Gouache paint and mixed media and is inspired by animals and nature around the PNW.
