Santa’s sailing adventure A Christmas Tale
One day, when Santa’s tired elves needed a break, Santa knew just what to do and what steps to take. He invited Mrs. Claus to go on an island shopping trip, and they set a course south on a sleek sailing ship.
The schooner beached at Lovric’s Sea-Craft as a breakwater in 1966 is called La Merced.
They aimed toward Anacortes, across the deep blue sea, to find the best island-themed gifts to go under the Christmas tree. Struck by the beauty of the waterfront town, they docked at Cap Sante Marina and set out to look around. They needed gifts for sailors, mermaids and landlubbers, too. Crafts, jewels, books and decor, … (plus a drink or two). “Where to start, where to start?” called Santa from the dock. As he and his wife took off on their shopping walk.
