Context & Impact: Why conduct this study?
Compassionatecareandcontinuousqualityimprovementarecrucialforlong-termcare(LTC) residents'well-being.Measuringthemiskeytoenhancingcarequality.ManyLTCresidents struggletocommunicateduetocognitiveimpairments(e.g.,dementia,braininjury),sowerely ontheircarepartnersforinput.Currently,novalidatedtoolsexisttomeasurecompassionfrom thecarepartner'sperspective;developingsuchatoolwillprovidevaluableinsights,leadingto improvedresidenthealthoutcomesandcarepractices.
Purpose: What is the goal of this study?
Becausetherearenovalidatedtoolsavailabletomeasurecompassionfromtheperspectiveof thesecarepartners,thepurposeofourstudyistodevelopandvalidateanewtool,theSinclair CompassionQuestionnaireforCarePartners(SCQ-CP).
