Upcoming F-1 OPT Workshops SISS will begin offering OPT workshops every month throughout the winter quarter. We will have separate monthly OPT workshops for our undergraduate and graduate students. All of our OPT workshops will take place at the SISS Annex. No registration is required. If you are planning on completing your academic program soon, please attend one of our OPT workshops for an overview of the OPT application process. SISS recommends applying for OPT 90 days prior to completing your academic program.

New International Student Success Course-Spring Quarter 2013-Sign Up Now! Spring 2013 EDU 98: Connecting to Community & Career. EDU 98 will help you to understand how to make connections with American communities and careers and to find UC Davis resources for community involvement, career exploration, and networking ; this course may be repeated for credit and is appropriate for any undergraduate international student.
Small class size (20 students per section) with a focus on student interaction and activities
2 units of P/NP course credit
Lots of office hours for individual attention, introduction to campus resources

Taxes Who Must Who Must File a Tax Return? All non-immigrant international students and scholars who were present in the U.S. during any part of the calendar year 2012 are responsible for filing a tax report to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by Tuesday, April 15, 2013. SISS staff does NOT have the required expertise to assist with filing taxes. Many Americans pay for an accountant or use computer-based tax programs. If you would like to consult with a tax accountant or tax support service, resources will be posted on the SISS website by mid-February. SISS Workshop: California State Taxes On March 14, 2013 a representative for the California Franchise Tax Board will give a presentation from 4:00pm – 5:00pm at the International House at 10 College Avenue in Davis.
