SILVERCUT TECHNOLOGIES CUTTER BAR While mowing it is important to get the cut grass behind the cutter bar as fast as possible so that the forage flow is not obstructed. For this reason we have designed the cutter bar with specially shaped discs which ensure a fast and efficient forage flow over the cutter bar, even on steep terrain. 1

The specially shaped discs, made of 4 mm wear resistant HARDOX steel, ensure excellent forage flow and a long lifespan for the components. 2

Overload protected cutter bar with DDSS system (disc drive safety system). The system consists of an intermediate flange with four shear pins, which break in case of an overload to prevent damage to the rest of the gears. This design of the DDSS allows pins to be changed quickly and easily so that as little time as possible is wasted. 3

The disc drive shaft is rigidly mounted to the cutter bar via a double closed bearing enabling it to withstand larger loads. The long lifespan of the cutter bar is ensured.

Wear-resistant cold pressed HARDOX skids DDSS (disc drive safety system) Double closed bearing Specially shaped disc QCS (Quick change system)

4

The spring of the QCS (quick change system) allows the blade to retract upon impact with an obstacle. Blade holders can be individually replaced.

QCS (quick change system)

5

To reduce the amount of impurities in the forage the surface area of the skids must be as large as possible. For this purpose we use a specially designed wear-resistant cold pressed HARDOX skids to ensure the optimum contact surface between the skids and the terrain.

15

RUBBER ROLLER CONDITIONER The rubber roller conditioner (RC) is recommended for regions with extensive areas of alfalfa. The helix-shaped conditioner prevents crop bleaching and protects high nutritional values.

Proteins in dry matter (%)

Continuously adjustable conditioning pressure helps to maintain the high nutritional values of lucerne grass.

The helix-shaped conditioner only opens the stem and does not damage the leaves. This way crop bleaching is prevented and the high nutritional value of the haylage is protected. The intensity of the rubber rollers should be set to only crack open the stems of the crop but not damage them.

33

DISC ALP ALPINE DISC MOWERS Daily work on grass fields requires reliable machinery. Our light and durable disc mowers, specially designed for safe work on steep terrains, ensure a precise cut and clean high quality forage. Perfect stability, quick adaptability and easy maintenance are their main attributes.

34

SIP catalogue

DISC ALP TECHNOLOGIES CUTTER BAR While mowing it is important to get the cut grass behind the cutter bar as fast as possible so that the forage flow is not obstructed. For this reason we have designed the cutter bar with specially shaped discs which ensure a fast and efficient forage flow over the cutter bar, even on steep terrain. 1

The specially shaped disc, made of 4 mm wear resistant HARDOX steel, ensure excellent forage flow and a long lifespan for the components.

4

The spring of the QCS allows the blade to retract upon impact with an obstacle. Blade holders can be individually replaced.

2

5

Overload protected cutter bar with DDSS system (disc drive safety system). The system consists of an intermediate flange with four shear pins, which break in case of an overload to prevent damage to the rest of the gears. This design of the DDSS allows pins to be changed quickly and easily so that as little time as possible is wasted.

To reduce the amount of impurities in the forage the surface area of the skids must be as large as possible. For this purpose we use a specially designed wear-resistant cold pressed HARDOX skids to ensure the optimum contact surface between the skids and the terrain.

3

The disc drive shaft is rigidly mounted to the cutter bar via a double closed bearing enabling it to withstand larger loads. The long lifespan of the cutter bar is ensured.

DISC DRIVE SAFETY SYSTEM - DDSS In 2007 SIP developed a new generation of cutter bar, in which the DDSS was incorporated for the first time. Since then no warranty claim has been filed regarding the cutter bar. Nut M32 Spring washer Inner flange 3 shear pins Outer flange

3 brass pins ensure that work continues unimpeded in the event of a disc overload. Shearing of the brass pins absorbs the force and leaves the cutter bar intact.

DISC ROTATION TOWARDS THE CENTRE

Towards the centre Enables a narrower swath for coping with extremely steep terrains.

Disc rotation towards the centre is the optimal solution for mowing downhill on extremely steep terrain and for providing narrower swaths.

ADAPTATION TO THE TERRAIN Consistent adaptation to the terrain provides evenly cut and clean forage. The field is evenly mown leaving the grass structure undamaged.

+30째

-40째 The maximum angle of adaptation to the terrain is -40째 and +30째.

Consistent adaptation to the terrain provides evenly cut and clean forage. The field is evenly mown leaving the grass structure undamaged.

The cutter bar with discs rotating towards the centre provides a consist and clean cut even on extreme slopes. Specially designed discs and skids made of wear-resistant steel (HARDOX) ensure an excellent forage flow and a long life span. The curved shape of the skids provides a larger contact surface and excellent gliding over the surface.

CSS( collision safety system)

The DISC S ALP side mower ensures excellent mowing on extremely steep terrain. The light yet robust construction and professional cutter bar ensure excellent ground contour following. The main attributes of the DISC S ALP mower are easy handling, easy transport and easy maintenance.

38

SIP catalogue

DISC F ALP FRONT MOWERS The front-mounted disc mowers have a linkage adapted for use on mountain tractors. The result is a great cut on extreme slopes.

Direct drive to the first disc via a PTO shaft, angle drive and universal joint CSS (collision safety system) Three point linkage Cat. I & II Mower hydraulic shift (optional) DDSS (disc drive safety system)

Direct drive to the first disc via a PTO shaft, angle drive and universal joint.

Universal three point linkage for different types of mountain tractors.

CSS (collision safety system)

The lightweight construction with the centre of gravity as close to the tractor as possible allows safe operation on extreme slopes. The reinforcement of the cutter bar via a heel on both sides reduces the possibility of damage of the bearings.

Alpine disc mowers - DISC F ALP

± 8°mm

39

The direct drive via PTO shaft with free-wheel and friction clutch and double universal joint to the first right disc of the cutter bar eliminates start torque on inclined ground and reduces the possibility of damage to the drive components.

± 200mm

The hydraulic side-shift ± 200 (optional) redirects the forage flow between the wheels when mowing lineal contours. This prevents driving over cut grass and the tractor tipping over sideways. The side-pivoting adjustment on the mower is 8°.

The DISC F ALP front mower is lightweight yet robust. It is perfectly adapted for work on steep and uneven terrain and even on mountainous terrain. The centre of gravity is as close to the tractor as possible which ensures enough pressure on the mowing surface and allows for a clean cut. That is why even the most demanding terrain will not present a problem. The open construction allows easy access and maintenance of all elements of the universal three-point linkage.

2 year warranty Years of testing, 100% quality controlled, robust design and reliable suppliers.

Loss protection Protective plug at the ends of the arms to prevent the loss of spring tines in case of damage.

HS - Hydraulic steering All HS models are equipped with standard central hydraulic wheel shift.

Smaller rotors - better spreading Spring tines are in a better overlap and have a cleaner and faster withdrawal of feed. This results in better crop distribution to improve drying.

T - Trailed Specially designed chassis for easier operation of the machine during work or transport.

Spring tines Different shank lengths of spring tines made of robust SUPER C steel provide excellent ground following and prevent forage contamination. HD (heavy duty) hinges Durable and sustainable double-fork joints on the construction between the segments.

Finger clutch This drive is entirely maintenance-free, and ensures a reliable transfer of power in all operational conditions.

43

SPIDER ROTARY TEDDERS The quality of forage depends on two factors: precision of working and drying time. That is why tedders are a significant part of the hay harvesting process. Advanced technology, simple use and manoeuvrability are essential for an even and optimum spread of forage. With tedding the forage will dry quicker and more evenly. Just right.

Spider technologies

ADAPTATION TO THE TERRAIN With the jockey wheel the machine follows the ground one step ahead. This ensures that the working depth is always set correctly. In this way you are able to drive faster, and also cleaner. An output of spread or swath can be achieved. The swath is protected and the spring tines last much longer. The additional jockey wheel is especially recommended for working on slopes.

SPREAD CROP FLOW Innovative small rotor geometry with round tubes, spring tine arms and different shank lengths of spring tine significantly improve the crop flow. All of this is to achieve higher working rates and an improved spread pattern, and it also ensures that the crop is turned highly clean.

SPREADING ANGLE ADJUSTMENT To adapt the machine to the prevailing harvesting conditions, the spreading angle can be set over a range from 12° to 18° depending on the model. Meanwhile, the tines can also be adjusted forwards or backwards by 7°, allowing you to fine-tune your desired spreading pattern.

45

46

SIP catalogue

SPIDER TECHNOLOGIES HS - HYDRAULIC STEERING Achieve clean tedding along boundaries and don’t allow the crops to be wasted by spreading over the border. Models with an HS - system are standard, equipped with a hydraulically spreading system. All wheels are centrally controlled and can be turned to the left or to the right side. This setting helps you both for tedding along the boundaries and also for collecting the forage when the crop is small.

Hydraulic steering helps to work along the boundary and aids the even drying of crops.

A hydraulic cylinder controls the steering of all wheels to the right and to the left side. The operator needs only one EW control on the tractor. The back pressure for the operation is performed by the hydraulic accumulator, which is integrated on the cylinder.

INNOVATIVE SAFETY CLUTCH Innovative dual-clutch solution specially developed for large-scale machines with high-performance operation. The dual clutch protects the drive system of the rotors by dividing the transmission of the drive torque to each side of the machine separately.

The innovative dual-clutch developed by Walterscheid protects the machine from overload on rotors. Breakdowns and machine downtime are drastically reduced.

Safety clutch mounted on the machine next to the main drive gearbox and well protected in operation.

FIND THE TEDDER TO FIT YOUR MOWER Using this equation it is easy to determine which tedder fits the width of your mower to cover 3 or 5 swaths. When tedding it is important to cover an odd number of swaths. To ensure good quality forage and safety on steep terrain we recommend always having one swath between the wheels.

A = 2W + S + B = 4W + S + W S A,B x

- cutter bar working weight - crop weight - working width of the tedder - additive tedder overlapping

Example: For a mower with 6 discs with a working width of 2.60m (W) and a swath width of 1.50m (S). A = 2W + S + x A = 2*2.60 + 1.50 + x A = 6.70 + x B = 4W + S + x B = 4*2.60 + 1.50 + x B = 11.90 + x

This implies that the appropriate tedder for a mower with 6 discs is at least 6.70 m. In this case, the ideal tedder would be the SPIDER 685I6 (A), which covers 3 swaths, or the SPIDER 1100I10 (B), which covers 5 swaths.

2 year warranty Years of testing, 100% quality controlled, robust design and reliable suppliers.

Loss protection Protective plug at the ends of the arms to prevent the loss of spring tines in case of damage.

TAA - Tyres angle adjustment The tyre angle should be adjusted depending on the mass of the forage. Greater forage mass requires greater angles. Smaller rotors - better spreading Spring tines are in a better overlap and have a cleaner and faster withdrawal of feed. This results in better crop distribution to improve drying.

Lightweight Clever design, special materials and well-thoughtout drives make the machine easier to run and perform. Spring tines Different shank lengths of spring tines made of robust SUPER C steel provide excellent ground following and prevent forage contamination. HD (heavy duty) hinges Durable and sustainable double-fork joints on the construction between the segments.

63

SPIDER ALP ALPINE ROTARY TEDDERS The quality of forage depends on two factors: precision of working and drying time. That is why tedders are a significant part of the hay harvesting process. Our light and durable alpine tedders, specially designed for safe work on steep terrains, ensure clean work and high quality forage. Perfect stability, quick adaptability and easy maintenance are their main attributes.

SPREAD CROP FLOW Innovative small rotor geometry with round tubes, spring tine arms and different shank lengths of spring tine significantly improve the crop flow. All of this is to achieve higher working rates and an improved spread pattern, and it also ensures that the crop is turned highly clean.

SPIDER 350|4 ALP, 400|4 ALP, 600|6 ALP ALPINE ROTARY TEDDERS Rotary tedders with four (SPIDER 350|4 ALP, 400|4 ALP /***) or six rotors (SPIDER 600|6 ALP) are lightweight, robust and agile.

Hydraulic folding of rotors Pivoting linkage Double universal joint Adjustable wheels

Rigid linkage equipped with swivel wheels (350|4 ALP and 400|4 ALP***) increases stability when tedding along sloped terrain.

Pivoting linkage (400|4 ALP, 600|6 ALP) improves manoeuverability and tractor following.

SPIDER 400|4 ALP*** is a tedder model with a fixed linkage.

Durable double spring tines are made of SUPER C steel wire with five coils. Different tine shank lengths enable an even tine load distribution, better adaptation to the field and ensure clean forage by protecting the grass turf.

Alpine rotary tedders – SPIDER 230|2 ALP, 350|4 ALP, 400|4 ALP, 600|6 ALP

When in transport position, it is possible to rotate folded rotors inward to achieve a narrower transport width (400|4 ALP).

67

To adapt the machine to the prevailing harvesting conditions, the spreading angle can be set over a range from 12° to 18° depending on the model.

Hydraulic folding allows easy operation of the machine from the tractor cabin (400|4 ALP and 600|6 ALP - standard equipment, 350|4 ALP and 400|4 ALP*** - optional equipment).

The smaller SPIDER ALP tedders are intended for use on smaller fields in combination with less powerful tractors. Because of their lightweight construction they are very manoeuvrable and ensure the same quality of tedding as their bigger counterparts: they achieve the same degree of spreading without damaging the turf. Because of their attributes, versatility and low maintenance they are an essential piece of machinery on small and medium-sized farms. For spreading near the edge of fields it is possible to shift the wheels and adjust the height of the rotor (SPIDER 400|4 ALP, 600|6 ALP).

SPIDER ALP TECHNOLOGIES FIND THE TEDDER TO FIT YOUR MOWER Using this equation it is easy to determine which tedder fits the width of your mower to cover 3 or 5 swaths. When tedding it is important to cover an odd number of swaths. To ensure good quality forage and safety on steep terrain we recommend always having one swath between the wheels.

A = 2W + S + B = 4W + S + W S A,B x

Lower arms 2- point linkage Y-gearbox Hydro-pneumatic ground contour following Continuously adjustable hydraulic swath width control Easy height adjustable 3D pivoting rotor

The robust steering mechanism offers a +/- 75° turning angle that allows the tractor to be followed perfectly.

The Y-drive of the rotors enables a lower working angle of the PTO shafts ensuring a longer lifespan of the PTO shaft.

Both rotors are free to move independently of the chassis arms. This also allows 3D tracking over uneven ground. The height of the rotors is hydraulically adjustable. The tines always stay parallel to the ground, ensuring that raking remains clean at any speed.

Rotary rakes – STAR 1000|30 T

Transport height with folded protection rails and removed spring tine arms is less than 3.20 m.

Adjustable double central swath width form 1.38m to 2.50m.

Hydro-pneumatic suspension.

Flexible walking tandem axle on the rotor for excellent ground contour following and higher operating speeds. A wide track with 4- or 6- wheel rotor chassis positioning close to the tines produces even and clean raking across the entire working width.

Continuously adjustable hydraulic swath width control allows the width to be adjusted even when working.

The steering system (optional) includes a hydraulic rotors-working-height adjustment function, automatic folding and unfolding from transport to work position and separate as well as partial rotor lifting.

The STAR 1000|30 T double rotor rake, equipped with four spring tines per arm, tandem axles and a hydraulically adjustable rotor height, ensures a shorter working time and greater productivity. 3D pivoting linkage of the rotors to the frame, in combination with hydro-pneumatic ground contour following, ensures excellent and clean work on all types of terrain.

JOCKEY WHEEL With the jockey wheel on the rake you are able to work faster on even terrain without the possibility of damaging the spring tine arms. This also ensures a cleaner output of swath.

With the jockey wheel, the machine follows the ground one step ahead. This ensures that the working depth is always set correctly. In this way you are able to drive faster, and also a cleaner output of spread or swath can be achieved. The swath is protected and the spring tines last much longer. An additional jockey wheel is especially recommended for working on slopes.

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT The working height of the spring tines can be adjusted so that during the work the turf remains undamaged.

The working height of the spring tines can be adjusted so that during the work the turf remains undamaged. The properly set spring tine working height ensures high- quality forage.

From the tractor seat adjustable working height of rotor.

SWATH WIDTH ADJUSTMENT The width of the swath and the amount of forage can be adjusted according to the width of the pick-up behind the rake.

The walking tandem axle (SIP patent) offers optimum ground contour following, higher working speeds and reduces impact loads on the machine.

The STAR 300|8 ALP and 350|8 ALP single rotor rakes are ideal for smaller fields and steep terrain. The rakes’ biggest attribute is the optional jockey wheel, which ensures less dirt in the swath because the spring tines do not hit the ground and consequently there is less damage and a longer lifespan of the spring tines.

CAMLESS FLEXIBLE PICK-UP

The camless flexible pick-up enables better adaptation to the terrain and thus allows cleaner raking without ash content or other impurities. The trailed spring tines barely touch the ground for less wear and a longer lifetime.

Instead of the straight line contact the flexible pick-up contacts the ground in a curved line for optimal ground hugging.

LESS LOSS OF LEAVES

Smaller diameter of the pick-up and its slow rotation allow better forage flow with no turbulence. The result is less loss of leaves. Slow rotation of the pick- up in combination with the finger rotor for perfect forage flow on the conveyor. [CURVES]2017_10_TOTEM 3_MERGER-FINAL 27. oktober 2017 11:13:32

103

FREELY ROTATING SKIDS While raking it is important to protect the turf. Because the skids are freely rotating, no dirt builds up on them. The rotating skids positioned close to the pick-up ensure high responsiveness to the terrain contour.

The high responsiveness to the terrain contour ensures less wear on the pick-up as well as on the pick-up of the following harvester, baler or forage wagon. Freely rotating skids

UNIQUE SPRING TINE ANTI-LOSS SYSTEM

The number of elements of the anti-loss system is maximally reduced for quick and cheap maintenance.

The attachment of the spring tine anti-loss system consists of one screw with a clamp fastening six spring tines. The broken tine remains in the position.

Transport frame with 2 -point pivoting linkage.

The direction and speed of the conveyor belt are simply carried out by a hydraulic motor.

The pick-up unit on the flexible frame with hydro-pneumatic suspension system ensures excellent responsiveness to the uneven terrain.

107

Working with the single trailed unit (left) or in combination with the front-mounted machine.

The swivelling frame hub and a telescope drawbar place the machine in a compact transport position.

The thought out design of the transport frame with the wheels positioned close to the pick-up unit.

The 5-metre flexible camless pick-up unit adapts perfectly to the uneven terrain through the overall width of the machine.

The hydraulic system on the transport chassis shifts the machine from the transport position to the work position – to the right or to the left side of the tractor. In addition, the 15° pick-up unit shift option enables smooth raking when dealing with unconditioned forage.

Belt rakes – FAVORIT 234 /F ALP, 254 /F ALP, 274 /F ALP

TEDDING The discharge side of the machine is slightly lifted.

RAKING The machines height is even and the swath guard is set to the size of the swath.

The swath guard remains on the belt rakes at all times. Switching between raking and tedding is done by lifting the guard and fixing with a bolt. The hay remover (option) prevents coiling of hay on the rotary system.

Double jockey wheels allow perfect ground contour following and a higher operating speed.

Belt rakes are an excellent choice for farmers who are looking for a small but versatile rake for tedding, spreading or raking dry or fresh forage. Because the spring tines never touch the ground the forage stays airy, which allows the forage to dry faster.
