Chef Edgar Panchernikov, affectionately known as “Chef Teddy,” is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn, and grew up on the South Shore on Long Island. Always a fan of cooking he knew upon graduating from High School that he would become a chef, enrolling in Manhattan’s French Culinary Institute in Soho. During his studies he began working at Gilt Restaurant at the Palace hotel, accepting a full-time position following his graduation.
Panchernikov than joined Caviar Russe for the first time as a cook under the leadership of the team of two very talented Chefs who helped establish Caviar Russe as a fine dining destination in addition to its caviar, Chris Agnew and Alex Dilling, both veterans of Alain Ducasse’s Ador restaurant. After which, he went on to work in various other restaurants in the NYC area.
After years of cooking, Panchernikov made the choice to rejoin Caviar Russe in a Front of House capacity, seeking to combine his
knowledge of cooking with hospitality. However, after a succession of Chefs he saw the only way to bring his vision to life, a true luxury hospitality experience, was to step back into the Kitchen and lead Caviar Russe from behind the stove as well as front of the house. He has been at the helm since 2016, retaining a 1 Michelin Star.
The arts inspire us and enhance our quality of life. We’re proud to support arts programs and the dreams of people in the communities we serve. Ready to reach for your dream?
Let’s talk today.
Your Dream. Our Mission.
“My feeling as to why I do it is this: one, I like physical work; and two, I can literally say that I touched every bottle in some way”, says Stu Lerner. As a major wood pallet vendor to Napa Valley and Sonoma County for over four decades, Stu enjoyed a career as an important player in the wine industry supply chain. His connections with such wineries as Silver Oak and Robert Mondavi, including the iconic Opus One, put him in the unique position of being both a purveyor and a collector.
“This is all about sharing that journey with our friends and our family,” Karen Lerner says. Her Italian heritage means that wine has always been a part of meals and gatherings, maintaining the notion that wine is best when shared with friends. Karen’s professional journey with her husband goes back many years through her detailed involvement in their past business. For the couple’s newer foray in Napa Valley, she is continuing that tradition, applying her wide range of skills to cultivate the brand.

Darioush | Jodie MacKenzie, Winery Representative
Acquiring a wine bar in 2004 began a journey in wine that was unplanned and unexpected for Jodie MacKenzie. In an attempt to learn the trade, classes were attended. Classes turned into a 3 to 4 year-journey of obsessive, serious study, culminating in a level 3 Sommelier diploma and certification.
By 2010, weary of the challenges the recession brought to luxury markets, MacKenzie set her sights on the domestic holy grail of wine, Napa, California. Taking a leap of faith, (again), she restructured, (again), her life from global, multi-brand concentration to working with focused, single winery brands. She has been with the luxury brand Darioush as Private Client Manager for over 8 years and has created a unique and successful niche in the highly competitive and complicated world of winery sales and marketing focused on high net-worth clients.

Kathi is a Napa Valley Native. She spent four wonderful years in Colorado, but the California coast called her back home. Her passion has always been people, in her words ‘I love people and hearing their stories.’ When you meet Kathi, you will be greeted with her genuine and warm hospitality. She has a decade of experience working for small family vineyards, and a past life as a professional photographer. Away from the winery, Kathi spends as much time as she can traveling up the coast with her husband (the gourmet cook in the family) entertaining family and friends, and hanging out with her ‘hairball’ black German Shepard, Sophie.
Owner of award-winning Roux 30a and Nanbu Noodle Bar, Chef Nikhil Abuvala truly does it all. Growing up with an appreciation for food passed down from generations of cooks and chefs, Abuvala started his culinary career at the early age of 13. Now with nearly 20 years of experience under his belt, he’s able to dive into a wide spectrum of cuisines and does so flawlessly. He invites you to experience his original perspective on dining where coastal meets modern that you’ll remember for years to come.
“My love of cooking has been with me as early as I can remember, standing in a chair rolling out fresh Indian flatbreads with my grandmother on a counter too tall for me to reach otherwise. The way she moved about the kitchen, like a general of an army commanding spices and herbs sparked a passion for food in me that is unmatched.”
“My passion is one rooted in family,” Michael says, “a passion to produce honest wines that best embody my family’s love for great wine and the unique estate vineyards that we own.”
Though he was born and raised in the Bay Area, Michael Baldacci spent many days as a young boy walking his family’s vineyards. Struck early on by the delicacy with which man and nature must work together to make beautiful wines, Michael returned to Napa Valley as an adult in 2012 to become part of the team at Baldacci Family Vineyards. New to the business but a veteran of the land, Michael took on a managerial role at the winery after four years of undergraduate study at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science. He approached the business with the same goal that his father had nearly twelve years before: to make wines that represent the character of the land, the grapes, and the family’s traditions. Michael studied viticulture and enology at both UC Davis and Napa Valley College. Michael took the reins as Winemaker in 2018. Michael can be found all around the winery, from the cellar to the tasting room, behind a desk or in the vineyards he first walked as a child. He continues to educate himself through UC Davis extension courses as well as to stay active in the industry as a board member of Next Generation and as a committee member with the Napa Valley Vintners. Michael tastes wine regularly in a variety of forums and participates in different winemaking trials that examine the effects of various harvest strategies, fermentation protocols and aging vessels. “Wine is so multifaceted. The topics in viticulture and enology are always evolving and I participate frequently in tastings that continue to demonstrate the incredible balance between artistry and science.”

Senior Estate Relations Specialist, Jonathan Robinson, has had a career spanning the worlds of food, wine, and communications. Early in his professional life, he cooked at several iconic Bay Area restaurants, Chez Panisse, Zuni Café, and Campton Place Hotel. Each establishment was led by visionary chefs and proprietors who valued and imparted to Jonathan an appreciation for sustainable agriculture, innovative culinary techniques, sophisticated wine programs, and the commitment to exemplary guest experiences. After leaving the world of fine-dining, Jonathan pursued another passion, becoming a non-fiction filmmaker. After moving to Napa Valley eight years ago, Robinson found himself greatly inspired by the work of growers and wine makers, their relationship to the land, and the traditions and innovations they bring to the field. This re-ignited his passion for being directly involved in the world of food and wine and he began a journey into the Napa wine industry. The first phase of his new professional career started at Kelly Fleming Wines in Calistoga. In 2020, he joined ADAMVS, where he continues to combine his storytelling, hospitality, and culinary talents, contributing to the Estate’s unique Biodynamic culture fusing the production of singular world- class wines and unforgettable guest experiences.
As the executive sous chef for Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood, Fleetwood Covington directs food preparation and collaborates with the culinary team to produce high quality plates, showcasing design and taste. Born and raised in the south east of England, Georgia Taylor’s love of wine began at a young age at her family’s fine wine boutique in Suffolk. A graduate in French and Italian from the University of Warwick, Taylor moved directly to Champagne, France, to work in marketing for two of the most preeminent champagne maisons, Dom Perignon and Moet et Chandon. In 2010, Taylor transferred with LVMH to the Napa Valley to continue her career in the wine industry, managing four luxury wineries before making her way to Post Parade. Taylor joined Post Parade in 2021 and lives in Napa with her partner, Tim.
Connor is the definition of a local boy, growing up on the dramatic slopes of Howell Mountain in Angwin, California. He attended Chapman University and played college football for all four years. During the summers, he got a taste for the world of winemaking working in the cellar at Outpost Winery during harvests. Dotzler graduated with a degree in Business and Computer Science and headed back to Napa to work in hospitality and sales at Mending Wall Winery. Keeping things in the Thomas Rivers Brown Family, Dotzler has been working at Post Parade Wines since spring 2022.
Hailing from Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Chef Alan Baltazar discovered his culinary passion early on, nurtured by his father. With a knack for innovation and a love for the kitchen’s rapid pace, Baltazar honed his skills across Wisconsin, Colorado, and finally, the Emerald Coast. In 2000, a vacation to Destin marked a permanent relocation. Leading esteemed kitchens, including Cuvee Bistro and Market 30A, he elevates dining experiences with premium seafood, meats, and wines. As chef and manager, Baltazar curates an impressive array of gourmet offerings, constantly expanding to exceed customer expectations, solidifying his reputation as a culinary maestro.

Wine is more than a drink — it’s a story. In 1998, Bob and Anne Arns purchased their dream property in the Napa Valley, inspired by years of travelling to wine growing regions of the world. They shared a long term vision of creating a small wine estate focused on organic and sustainably farmed Bordeaux varietals. The French name, Tournesol, means sunflower which is often used as an emblem for green ideology and reflects the Arns’ commitment to the land. Tournesol comprises 15 acres of vineyards in the Coombsville AVA of Napa, producing highly acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon, Proprietor’s Blend, Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon and Rose wines.
With more than 25 years of culinary experience, Chef Dan Vargo’s signature “relaxed fine-dining” style comes from working in 5-Diamond and 4 & 5-Star restaurants and resorts in Florida, Maryland, and Ireland. Working at the executive-level at two Ritz-Carlton resorts, The Boathouse (Martha’s Vineyard), and most recently at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa has been an honor and a pleasure.
Chef Dan enjoys bringing the luxury of the “Chef’s Table” to the comfort of your own home with his new personal chef business, Fine Coastal Cuisine.

“Growing grapes and making wine is more than a family business — it’s a way of life, for my generation and those that follow.” – Peter Mondavi Sr
In 1861, Charles Krug, the visionary father of Napa Valley winemaking, established the winery that started it all. The Mondavi Family purchased this already iconic estate in 1943, and for over 75 years and four generations they have been passionately perfecting an enduring legacy for those generations still to come.
Every member of the Mondavi family has a different role and contributes to the overall success and longevity of this family-owned and family-operated winery. Janice Mondavi is a fourth-generation Californian, wife to Marc for four decade, she has a deep appreciation for family and tradition and has passed those values down to her and Marc’s four daughters: Angelina, Alycia, Riana and
Giovanna. Janice is a Brand Ambassador for CK Mondavi and Family, hosting visitors and traveling throughout the year to promote the family brand. She is also a wonderful cook and baker, and her table is the place to gather. Everyone clamors for an invitation to one of her parties or dinner parties.
Aloft
“Take care of the land and the land will take care of you.” – Peter Mondavi
There’s an unmistakable quality to the Cabernet you can grow on this mountain. Situated 1,600 to 1,800 feet above Napa Valley floor, the location, soil profiles and elevation of our Cold Springs Vineyard are enough to make even the most stoic wine geek swoon. The topography is so varied, there’s no single vantage point that gives you a sense of the whole, but rather, it offers little secrets to be discovered around every bend. “Aloft is truly a personal family project for us. It’s given us the chance to be ourselves and to spend time working on a project together. My sister, Angelina, as our winemaker, my mother, Janice, as our CFO, my father, Marc, as our mentor, my sisters, Giovanna and Riana, as brand ambassadors, and myself working to pull it all together. Although we own lots of vineyards in Napa Valley, my Grandfather (Peter Sr.) has always farmed the valley floor, so my father was keen on finding out what we could do with mountain Cabernet,” says Alycia Mondavi.
Chef Jack McGuckin began his career at age 15 in the fabled Bechac’s restaurant on New Orleans’ Northshore learning every aspect of the kitchen and developing a deep love and curiosity for Creole Cuisine. McGuckin’s philosophy is to keep the cooking simple, to let the natural quality of the products shine. He considers himself blessed to be surrounded by such an abundance of fresh Gulf seafood minutes from the back door of the restaurant.
Chef Jack and his staff also work with many local farmers and regional artisanal producers who deliver amazing products daily. Chef Jack and Bijoux have garnered numerous awards in the past twenty years, including being named for six consecutive years as one of Florida’s Golden Spoon recipients. Jack and his wife, Leslie, own Bijoux and on many days their three children can be spotted helping prep for the night’s service.

Q: 2023-2024 is Sinfonia’s 18th year. She is an “adult” now! How does it feel to reach this milestone?
It is truly hard to fathom that Sinfonia is approaching two decades. I say it every year, but Sinfonia exists because of our amazing community. Our music education outreach and community engagement initiatives are a void that we continue to fill in our school districts, however the support of the community for our public concerts and events is what enables us to exist in the capacity that we do.
Q: You are kicking off the season
September 27 with Cabaret at Seagar’s headlined by Laura Benanti, one of Broadway’s brightest soprano stars … she’s been on Broadway 10 times earning a Tony Award for Gypsy (Louise) and appeared in our living rooms in The Sound of Music Live! (Baroness Elsa). You could say this evening is “back by popular demand.” Why is this particular event so popular and why did you invite this Laura Benanti to headline?
The Seagar’s Cabaret is a magical evening. So many of our patrons say that it is their favorite concert of the season. The venue (Seagar’s), the ambiance, the incredible cuisine and wine pairings and above all else, the artists! Watching intimate performances by Grammy- and/or Tony Award-winning artists up close and personal is like being transported to the iconic Cafe Carlyle in New York City. It is definitely my favorite way to kick off the season. It is a “wow” moment each year. I love that we can finally present Laura Benanti, whose pedigree and resume more than speaks for itself. She and I have never worked together, but we have many friends and colleagues in common.
She is the real deal. A big deal. I am looking forward to welcoming her to the Sinfonia stage.
Q: November 4 promises another powerhouse performer: Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. You are essentially presenting the world’s most famous horn player! What can we expect from this year’s Gala Event and why should people come out to support it?
Energy. Excitement. Booty-shaking musical revelry. All that is Trombone Shorty. Listen, how do you top Patti LaBelle? You cannot. I knew we had to take a much different path with this year’s gala. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue are a mind-blowing musical experience. They are the best of the best musicians. I love that Shorty has his own foundation that benefits music education. That resonates loudly with me. The gala supports Sinfonia’s most important work in the community: bringing quality music to school children at no cost to them or their schools. Hotel Effie at Sandestin will serve as an incredible backdrop for this evening extravaganza. As always, expect a few surprises throughout the evening.
Q: You are serving up a tasty new treat with the Toast ‘n Jam series at the beautiful Henderson Beach Resort in Destin. December 3 you present Time for Three (TF3) and February 11 you showcase Chris Brubeck and the Brubeck Brothers Quartet. Anytime we can enjoy live music and brunch, we’re in. Tell us more delicious details.
Don’t forget the Bloody Marys and Mimosas! When COVID thwarted our plans to present Time for Three performing Chris Brubeck’s concerto he wrote for them and orchestra, their schedules haven’t enabled us to recreate that performance, but we will one day soon. In the meantime, it was too important to just let them sit without sizzling for our audiences, so we created this series for them at different times. Time for Three is a phenomenal crossover trio … make that a newly Grammy Awardwinning trio. Chris Brubeck. Well, the name speaks for itself. Continuing the legacy of his father, bassist/trombonist/composer Chris and his brother Dan, a drummer, have been playing together for a half century. Guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb, complete this dynamic jazz quartet. We are looking forward to partnering with the Henderson on this fun and family friendly event.
Q: Holiday Pops features “the last leading man” … tell us how two-time Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell will make our season bright on December 8 with his famous baritone voice.
How fun is it that we get to present Trevor from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air? Brian Stokes Mitchell is a behemoth of Broadway and concert stage and has quite the festive holiday program with orchestra. Holiday Pops is always a patron favorite, and this year will be no different. It is always such a fun way to celebrate the season with the sounds of the orchestra enveloping you. This year we will have table seating to create an even more festive occasion.
Q: Music of the Knights will save us from the winter blues on January 20. Even the title of this concert is full of mystery and intrigue. Sounds like audiences are in for some “royal treatment.” Tell us more.
A musical tribute to Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber … featuring vocalists and Sinfonia’s amazing full orchestra. More than 40 years of the most incredible music that has shaped generations. What is not to like?
Q: Classical Connections will feature saxophonist Steven Banks. Among many prestigious honors, he is the 2019 Sinfonia Gulf Coast Young Concert Artist prize winner. Tell us why we need to fill the hall on March 23 to hear this captivating young composer/musician.
The Sinfonia Young Concert Artists (YCA) Prize is very special to me and Sinfonia. Young Concert Artists is a nearly 70-year-old institution that has introduced incredible classical musicians to the world. Sinfonia is honored to be able to offer an award to one of the winners each season to perform with the orchestra, but also go out into our community to work with schools, local bands, the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra as well as other community engagement opportunities. Steven Banks is an extraordinary saxophonist whose
career has catapulted since winning YCA. Steven is an artist that everyone should know. He represents the future of classical music and the opportunities and importance that it carries for our culture. Sinfonia Gulf Coast is one of 10 orchestras nationwide that has shared in a co-commission from creative genius and composer Billy Childs. He created the concerto for saxophone specifically for Steven and we are thrilled to be able to share in this project, which also includes incredible orchestras like the Kansas City Symphony, the Cincinnati Symphony, the Aspen Music School, and the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, just to name a few.
Q: On May 18 Destin-Fort Walton Beach Convention Center will be the scene of an epic, action-packed adventure with Jurassic Park in Concert. Why should families brave a Film in Concert 65 million years in the making?
That’s 65 million plus three years to be exact. We are finally traveling to Jurassic Park after two rescheduled dates due to COVID. These film in concert productions represent exactly what Sinfonia is about…redefining the
traditional symphony experience, melding genres, bringing new audiences into the concert hall. With the amazing custom screen that hovers above the orchestra, this will definitely be an experience for the entire family to see the more than 100 musicians on stage performing John Williams’s iconic film score. Larger than life in all regards!
Q: As we interview, you are hopping from Festival Napa Valley — where you have forged long-lasting relationships — to a Visit South Walton media event in NYC, to a Young Concert Artists Board event at the Aspen Music School. You travel frequently from coast to coast. How does the local community benefit from your national connections?
Literally anything and everything that you see with Sinfonia is a result of who I know in the industry, who we already have a great working relationship with, recommendations from colleagues and artist managers that I

have worked with over the last 20 years. The networking and travel are essential. To remain relevant, you must continually explore new artists, new venues, new opportunities and I believe that we have done a great job of doing that over the last 17 seasons.
Being appointed to the Young Concert Artists Board in 2022 has been a wonderful experience for me both personally and professionally and the opportunity to create a partnership for the future is promising. Collaboration is key!
Students in grade 3-5 are given the opportunity to join the orchestra in this highly participatory program, in which they learn to sing and play an instrument in the classroom and perform with a professional orchestra from their seats at a culminating concert with Sinfonia Gulf Coast.

Mizrahi has directed productions of A Little Night Music and The Magic
“Mizrahi exudes irreverence and charm – or is that charming irreverence? His attitude is infectious; his style improvisational. As a cabaret performer, Isaac Mizrahi is sui generis – and loads of fun.”

Matt Rogers was 5 years old when he got his first laugh.
“I was addicted to making people laugh. I wanted to be a comedian,” he confesses.
Nearly 40 years later and this passionate, kind, and funny auctioneer/performer is still lighting up a room in hopes of making a difference.
Before this California native commanded attention on stage at gala events, he put his 6’5” frame to work as an offensive lineman for the University of Washington. After school, he used his vocal cords as a sports broadcaster covering top college teams. In 2010, he moved to California and big things began to happen, literally. He was cast as the host of the Discovery Channel’s Really Big Things, a show that spotlighted big things like a huge hydrogen partial collider in Germany. He hosted Lifetime’s Coming Home, a program reuniting military families. He made appearances on The Price is Right and Family Feud and was a finalist on American Idol. In 2021, a dream came true when the Spring Hill, Tennessee resident beat out 200 contenders to become the official “voice” of the Tennessee Titans, Rogers’ favorite home team.
He’s also about making his family feel better. He and his wife, Teri, have four children Brayden, 18, Mason, 16, Samantha, 9, and Brooklyn, 2. The three youngest were born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), an uncurable disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs in the body. Rogers was at a 2009 fundraiser for CF when he was first asked to emcee.
“I wasn’t sure what I was doing, but I got the crowd involved, and they had a blast,” Rogers says. Clearly Rogers was doing something right. The event raised three times as much as the previous year. Soon, Make A Wish Foundation and Susan Komen Foundation were calling and Rogers’ career as a professional auctioneer was launched.
“I want to people to feel joy, give more and laugh more. I’m all about making the room better,” he says.
More than a decade later, Rogers has hosted more than 1,000 events including. Since 2019, after hosting Crescendo several years running, you could say he has been the voice of Sinfonia Gulf Coast. Whether hosting a TV show, announcing a football play, or auctioneering, Rogers loves to entertain.
“I love being on stage,” Rogers says. “I was always the kid trying out for the church and school plays. I was singing victory opera in my jock strap in the locker room after the games. Though I love all music from Christian to rap, I’m not a musician. I am a performer.”
As much as he loves the spotlight, that’s not what keeps this big-hearted emcee coming back.
“I love people,” he says. “I love to show people how to have a good time. Whether you are a billionaire or have a $200 budget, you are looking for a good time — and both of you deserve all I have.”
Rogers returns to host a range of annual events from small town spaghetti suppers to A-list celebrity galas. But Sinfonia has a special place in his heart.
Rogers has traveled the world hosting events and he believes Sinfonia events are set apart.
“I am impressed with Sinfonia. The team, starting with Demetrius Fuller, is first class. How you do anything is how you do everything and the way he treats me, the orchestra kids, people at events — everyone gets first class treatment,” Rogers says.
“The Gulf Coast community is unlike any in America. It’s very special,” Rogers says. “There aren’t many Sinfonias. If you want to see the most influential people and decision makers in the Panhandle, you need to go to Sinfonia events. When you have an opportunity to be around the most influential people who are looking for what they can give versus what they can get, it’s a gamechanger. On top of that, because the most influential people are there are going to get a 5-star experience from the food to the entertainment.”

If children are not introduced to music at an early age, I believe something fundamental is actually being taken from them. —
Luciano PavarottiSome of the many ongoing initiatives
Sinfonia uses music to reach and connect with young people each year:
Sinfonietta Strings & Intermediate Strings
Sinfonia Youth Orchestra
Link Up program in conjunction with Carnegie Hall
When you hear the hum of 3,700 grade school children clutching recorders and barely able to contain their excitement as a live Link Up concert is about to commence, it’s clear, after 15 years, educational outreach remains at the forefront of Sinfonia Gulf Coast’s mission.
Entertain. Educate. Inspire. These three simple words are a mandate for Northwest Florida’s only fully professional orchestra and its music and artistic director, maestro Demetrius Fuller. And that includes young music makers.
Thanks to the generous support of its community partners, by the end of the 2022-2023 season, Sinfonia will have served more than 200,000 children in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
