Ian Gittins has been part of Tanners as a family owned and operated business for 36 years and the store has been here for 54 years. He and the other technicians have been trained and certified in repair & sales of vacuum & sewing machines. Additionally Ian has been given several awards and certificates for his sales, customer service, training & expertise. He grew the local Westchester store from 1,000 sq. ft. to 2,000 sq. ft. over the years as well as adding a whole new sewing side complete with a classroom with lots of classes available to the community.

We have a wonderful teacher, Linda Tidwell, who graduated from Ray Vogue School of Design in Chicago, where she studied and further developed her pattern making skills, fabric draping and fabric analysis, that can show you how to sew anything. Not only is she trained in sewing for fashion and the home, she makes sewing easy to understand and helps you get your projects started and finished. She can easily teach from the beginner to the advanced sewer.
SEWING TRENDS This years sewing trends are wide legs pants, blazers, added sequins, fringed items, athletic wear, bags and backpacks. We offer classes in all these areas and can help you get started on any of these projects or techniques.
