c 5 PET TRAVEL TIPS When it comes to traveling with pets, images of tangled leashes and sharpened claws may come to mind— but it doesn't have to be that way. Stress-free pet travel is possible, with some advance preparation + these tips:

ARRY ON'S: When traveling by air, you can bring one pet kennel as your carry-on bag generally by most airlines if you pay the carry-on pet charge, your pet is at least 8 weeks old, your pet stays in their kennel and under the seat in front of you for the entire flight.

Vet Check
Get the required documentation. You need a health certificate if you want to get your pet on an airplane, usually issued within 10 days of your flight. Most veterinarians can supply you with everything you’ll need. If you’re on the road and your pet gets into a fight or bites someone, you’ll want documentation that the pet has had rabies and other vaccinations. SILICON BEACH MAGAZINE

Packing For Your Pet Packing for a holiday for your pet is another thing to worry about. Your pet will never have to miss a meal or drink of water when on the go if you bring collapsible pet bowls & perhaps the K9 Unit Dog Water Bottle where the lid acts as a bowl. Ideal to have on long or short journeys, and even on walks or hikes during your holiday.

Walk Your Pet at LAX
LAX has small "Pet Parks" on the Lower/ Arrivals Level of the Central Terminal area between Terminals 1-2 and at the southeast end of the Central Terminal Area near Terminals 7-8 (United Airlines) where pets can take a potty break. There's a little dog house there and a stand with plastic bags so owners can clean up after their animals, and a trash can. Pets cannot run free at the Terminals 7-8 location because it is still in the Central Terminal Area and the roadway runs alongside it. There is also a “Pet Park” beyond passenger security screening in the new Tom Bradley Terminal.

Calm The Kitty Confirm that your cat can travel in the airplane cabin with you under the seat in front of you.
Some cats experience tremendous stress when subjected to air travel. Strategies to de-stress feline flights include a "Thundershirt® which swaddles the cats much like swaddling an infant and can reduce anxiety or a pheromone calming collar to contribute to lowering anxiety.

Small pets are allowed through the checkpoint. Please check with your airline for their policy. You will remove your pet from the carrying case & place the case through the X-ray machine. Remove the leash when carrying your pet through the metal detector. Animal carriers will undergo a visual and/or physical inspection.

The $ilicon Beach Housing Market is Red-Hot
T
he news is out - - Silicon Beach living is on fire! The Real Deal came out with the “Silicon Beach Red-Hot Real Estate Report” and the Los Angeles Times declared that “Silicon Beach leads the latest surge in home sale growth in L.A”. The “hottest, and almost boiling” real estate reported is in Playa Vista. In July, August & September, the booming tech hub of Playa Vista saw a 317% increase
in sales volume for single-family home sales over the same period last year, according to a survey by the Combined L.A. Westside MLS. The average home price now in Playa Vista is $1,070,000, so it may not be for the first-time buyer. Want to rent instead? The average rental right now is around $4,500 a month (although Trulia is quoting $5,450).
