Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match, as we travel to pre-revolutionary Russia in this beloved musical. All are welcome to audition.

Volunteer opportunities are available for production assistants, set builders, scenic artists, costumers, lighting and sound technicians, stage managers, stage crew, props, box office, ushers, and musicians. Adults and teens welcome! Community service and college internships available.

What We Offer

Whether you are mourning the loss of a loved one, taking on the role of caregiver, battling cancer, or facing another challenge, we offer individual and group support services. Should additional support be needed, such as financial and legal assistance, government benefits, and social programs, we will conduct a brief intake and connect you to local resources.

All participation requires an assessment. Please call to confirm group schedules.

Connection To Community Resources

JEWISH COMMUNITY SUPPORT WARM LINE

A confidential way to connect with a social worker who will complete an intake and refer various community resources such as government benefits, short-term counseling, home care, and more. Through the sensitivity of Jewish values, this assessment can help to reduce social isolation, improve mental health, mitigate food insecurity, and overall help to enhance the quality of life. Open to all. Funded by Jewish Community Support UJA Grant.

Isolation To Connection

We have partnered with UJA-Federation of New York to offer the Isolation to Connection program offering short-term social work services and personalized connection with long-term resources for isolated seniors.

MENTAL HEALTH + WELLNESS CLINICAL SUPPORT

Our licensed social workers, where appropriate, will refer to short-term counseling for community members who are uninsured or underinsured. Offered by our on-site partner, Central Nassau Guidance and Counseling.

Each group meets for 10 sessions

$125 members / $175 nonmembers

Spousal

BEREAVEMENT GROUP

Support for those who have lost a spouse or partner.

ADULT CHILDREN BEREAVEMENT GROUP

Support for those in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who have lost a parent.

DIVORCE AND SEPARATION GROUP

Support for those newly divorced or separated.

SPOUSAL CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP

Support for those with a spouse diagnosed with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, or another neurodegenerative illness. Young-onset caregiver and older onset caregiver support groups available.

ADULT CHILDREN CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUP

Support for those in their 20s and 30s with a parent diagnosed with dementia, Parkinson’s disease, or another neurodegenerative illness.

WORKSHOPS + CONFERENCES

CARE PARTNER EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP

This professionally facilitated virtual seminar is designed for spouses and adult children to provide information about understanding Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, communication strategies, behavior management, coping techniques, and guest presentations from professionals in the field of aging.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Community support programs are led by an outside facilitator or by peer members and are free. While we support self-help and discovery, the opinions expressed are not regulated by SJJCC.

PFLAG

PFLAG is dedicated to keeping families together when a loved one comes out as LGBTQ. We offer open group meetings or confidential helpline. For more information, visit pflagli.org.

NORTH EAST RECOVERY ALLIANCE OF LONG ISLAND (NERALI): CONCERNED PERSONS

GROUP

This virtual monthly group empowers and supports family members and friends of loved ones wrestling with substance abuse. Meets the first Monday of every month.

OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS (OA)

A virtual 12-step program for those facing an eating disorder. For more information, visit nassauoa.org
