EMIRATI RESIDENCE

HOUSE OF FUTURE- COMPETITION WORLD WIDE

SITE: DUBAI

YEAR: 2023

TYPE: RESIDENTIAL

COLLABORATION: A.R. VIKRAM RAVI & A.R. NIMISH SRIKANTH

AREA: 450 SQM

Breath, a house set in the emirate of Dubai, is a result of tradition and culture meeting the new.

The design is inspired from traditional emirati architecture, the outcome of which was the inclusion of an indoor courtyard creating a micro climate within the building envelope. An effort to reduce indoor temperature, resulted in the introduction of “breathable” walls - redefining a traditional wind tower.

Breath is a thoughtful design of spaces that bring the joy of being an emirati. A lavish central courtyard that creates a seamless flow between the indoor and outdoor, while still zoning out the more public areas from the private living spaces. The courtyard also flaunts its roof with an intricate and detailed waffle slab skylight.

Breath is an attempt at sustainability and design inspired from the traditions of Dubai.
