FINDING TOPICS
THE FINAL TOPIC
The topic selection process about five things I like, five things I do not like, five things that are mysterious, ten problems I would like to see solved in the world, ten problems I don't think will ever be solved being covered in the news today, ten problems that might be better than they are now if communication were clearer, and 15 things I’m passionate about. From these topics, I selected five topics that I interest.
After critic from instructor and peers, I decided to choose female safety issues as my project topic, and I narrowed down to focus on safety for female travelers when they travel alone.

BRAINSTORMING WALL To develop my topic of safety for female travelers, I developed a physical brainstorming wall, and I wrote some keywords from positive and negative aspect. Also, I wrote some words that the feeling of travel alone. Finally, I put them together to develop my concept.

CREATIVE BRIEF Background:
Key Words:
British Airways recently released a report of “Global Solo Travel Study”. They analyzed trends in the various travel markets around the world, group attributes, reasons for travel and the most attractive destinations. According to the survey, more than 50% of female around the world have chosen to travel alone, and 25% of female said they have plans to travel alone.
Freedom: Most the people who prefer to travel alone because they enjoy the sense of freedom that they can do anything they want.
Harassment is the biggest troubles for female in strangers, which will easily lead them to the victim.
Independent: In own travel, women have no way to rely on anyone, everything must be done by themselves. Having an independent ability is a very important factor in traveling alone.
Target Audience: The Experienced Person: People who prefer traveling alone and they experienced some dangerous situations even to be a victim during traveling. Having Travel Plans Person: People who have plans to travel alone in the future. The Parent People who cares a lot about this topic because their family members prefer traveling alone.
Objective: I want to educate women on how to protect themselves, so that they can prevent themselves from getting hurt while traveling.
Single Minded Proposition:
Adventure: We don’t know what will happen in the future during the travel, We need to be adventurous. I believe that if a woman is too timid, she will not travel alone.
Deliverables: Poster Series: I designed three posters that have contrast effect to catch people’s attention immediately, and hoping more people will care about this problem in the future. Printed Booklet: Introduce more details about traveling safety through words and pictures. It’s convenient to distribute. Mobile App: Could provide some safety tips for audiences, and help them have some areas to communicate with each other. Teaching people how to protect themselves when traveling alone.
How to travel safely as a woman Website: Providing some advisories for women travelers, and they can have some specific knowledges.

PERSONAS Alice Personal Traits: 1. Alice is very confused after graduation, because she did not know what kind of work she should do. So she wants a gap year to go to lots of places to enhance her life experience to find her real interest. 2. She is full of curiosity of different culture and people, because she thinks that there still have many people who live in the way that we do not know, and she wants to know the people who have a different life with us. 3. She has been to many places before, and she never deals with problems by herself when traveling, because most of the time with her friends to travel together. 4. She has a psychological shadow in traveling, because she experienced being robbed of money while traveling. 5. She is looking for some companions who can be on the road in the same schedule, because she wants to travel with other people. 6. She has been some news reports that female travelers have been in danger or even lost their lives when traveling alone, because she has a travel plan in few weeks later.

PERSONAS Jason Personal Traits: 1. His daughter is 17 years old, because she prefers to travel alone during summer and winter, so Jason very cares about the news of alone traveler safety. 2. Jason’s daughter does not like to have too much connection with her parents when she traveling. Because his daughter is in the rebellious phase of her age. 3. He thinks his daughter is too young to handle lots of thing by herself and she is very easy to believe strangers, because she is very dependent on her parents when she is at home. 4. He understand that there are still have lots of enthusiastic people in the world, but the bad guy is in everywhere, because too much news reported female to be the victim. 5. He does not know how to let his daughter understand the importance of traveling alone, he just tells his daughter must always pay attention the environment around and show her some relevant news reports let her understand

Because Olivia prefers traveling in past years, and she has lots of experiences of traveling alone, and she believes that safety is very important when traveling. 2. She thinks that when women traveling along they must protect the item that they have, because she experienced that her camera being robbed while she taking photos. 3. 4. As a traveling blogger, most of the time, she rarely to enjoy the travel, because her traveling is for work. 5. She wants to see the lives of different people and listen to the stories of them. 6. She always shares her traveling experiences and writes some articles to audiences, because she wants to tell people how to decrease and avoid dangerous occurrence. 7. She does not want women to be in danger when they traveling alone.
