Our innovation pole Innovation is the core basis of our development strategy

R&D division

Our R&D strategy is based on three core principles:

• Energy efficiency

• Eco design

• Integration for energy network infrastructures

Sicame Group is highly involved in active participation in the ecosystem, the development of partnerships with universities and industrial companies with the creation of a dedicated innovation steering committee to analyse the trends impacting the future of the sector and propose strategies for innovation.

This form of organization has a single objective: support and develop innovation in order to accompany the energy and digital transition.

Every day, Sicame’s engineering teams design and develop accessories that will be used for work on today’s electrical networks and, more broadly, electrical equipment of the future.

With technology constantly changing, the accessories are always more efficient and secure when complying to new environmental constraints.

“Our teams use new technologies such as CAD digital simulation and 3D printing prototyping to rapidly meet the needs of a constantly evolving market.”

All new accessory development considers performance and ergonomics requirements, whilst balancing the economical aspect without compromising security and reliability.

For us, innovation is not just designing an effective and competitive accessory, it’s also about thinking the conception in a sustainable life-cycle dynamic, from the creation to destruction.

Like all areas of the company, the design office is fully engaged in the dual process of quality organization / environment.

IoT division

With a dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) team, Sicame Group is willing to impulse new generation of communi cating products to a global IoT platform. Today Sicame benefits from this technological advance and proposes connected solutions dedicated to distribution lines specific issues.

Our partners will save time and gain peace of mind knowing that our IoT solutions will facilitate daily monitoring and maintenance actions and guarantee a high-quality electrical service for the final user.

Our resin are designed for 100% reliability

Sicame Group has developed dedicated research centers for the development of cast resins in accordance with our customers specifications.

We are formulating and manufacturing various cast resins for medium and low voltage applications. Our resins are formulated and professionally tested in our in-house laboratories for highest reliability and optimal handling. All our formulations are created in accordance with the REACH classification of the European Chemi cal Agency (ECHA).

In more than 90 years, we achieved a great knowledge about raw materials and formulations to reach a high level of expertise. We can provide a large range of polyurethane, hydrocarbon, epoxy and acrylic resins that are now recognised as best in class by our customers.

• HDI based polyurethane resin “PUR”

• MDI based polyurethane resin “PUR”

• Polybutadiene (or hydrocarbon) based resins

• Epoxy based resins

• Silicone based resins

• Acrylic based resins

"In

partnership with ENEDIS, which

Our products are free from solvent and heavy metal, resistant to environmental influences as well as electrically and mechanically stable. They offer long-term protection in terms of insulation values and resistance for all kind of cable accesso ries and cross sections.

The cast resin develops a low to non exothermic cure with excellent adhesive qualities.

We also take special care in the selection process of our packaging, for optimal conservation, per fect mixture and ease of use on-site:

The cast resins are further available individually in chamber bags.

The mixing of the cast resin component and the hardener is done directly before the filling into the joint shell which is designed with at least one filling port.

Resin shells systems

Our internal capabilities allow us to offer customised solutions for our customers’ special requests and specifications of each project.

We design and propose a full range of injected or poured resin joint shells. Our shell designs are the result of years of research based on field feedback from jointers, while providing the answer to technical specificitions and mechanical resistance.

Injected resin technology

• Technology using a polyurethane resin.

• Build of insulation with resin and help of prefabricated spacer between phases.

• Outer cover build with the same resin.

• Installation temperature: -10 / +40

C

• Shelf life: 18-24 months (according to resin).

• Compact packaging

• Requires less resin

• Specially adapted for larger section network joints and mixed applications

Poured resin technology

• Technology using a polyurethane resin.

• Build of insulation and stress control with prefabricated slip on tube (moulded shroud).

• Build of outer cover with resin poured into the rigid shell.

• Installation temperature: -10 / +40

C

• Shelf life: 18-24 months (according to resin).

• Either for rigid or soft shell

• Requires less skills to install

• Adapted for smaller repeatable accessories applicationsuch as service taps for example

Watertightness Technologies

Cold Shrink sealing technology

Complete range of Cold Shrink accessories made with EPDM or Silicone, depending on the application, for break-outs, sleeves and end-caps for use on low voltage cables.

Silicone rubber

Presenting high performance with elasticity and hydrophobic behavior, silicone is typically suitable on inside enclosure and building application, thanks to its excellent fire resistance proper ties.

Ease of implementation - Flame free

EPDM rubber

EPDM material presents natural & superior properties when it comes to mechanical strength, tear resistance and high molecular resistance to humidity underground.

Therefore EPDM is commonly the best solution for below grade applications.

Self-sealed technologies

Sicame has developed a complete range of fully insulated connectors that provide waterproof connection without the need to strip the conductor.

Depending on your project and the use, our self-sealed connectors will meet your need, while guaranteeing you a quick, easy and secure installation.

Piranha series

Superior waterproof performance and simple cable preparation make Piranha’s the best multiport underground insulating piercing connectors available on the market, for multi-tap transformer, condo servicing and in wet areas or in areas subject to casual submersion.

With up to 6 entry points and accommodating both aluminum and copper conductors up to 300mm² , Pirahna’s offer maximum versatility.

Heat shrink technology

Full range of heat shrink break-outs, sleeves and end-cap accessories.

Our heat shrink accessories use high quality extruded or molded reticulated polyethylene base, with dedicated additives depending on the fire re sistance required. All components are subject to a strict selection process method for optimal repeatability during installation.

We are also able to adapt the thickness according to the required protection level.

Finally, some of our products are provided with heat-reactive glue for an optimal grip during installation.

TTDS..SP series

Single-core underground IPC connectors for twisted cable with double insulation according to HD 603-S1 standard which allow simultaneous piercing on main conductor - without cutting it - and tap conductors without stripping. A flexible plug is added for protection of the tap cable end to ensure fully waterproof performance. Indeed, our TTDS..SPs are IP2X at 6 kV under water.

Live assembly with shear-head screw is possible and there is no active reachable potential to provide maximum safety as well as ease of use.

One-piece, UV stabilized thermo-plastic rubber overmoulded connector body provides longlasting water tight seals – IP 67 guaranteed - with no exposed live parts.

Shearhead bolts allow an optimized piercing in addition to a simple installation with a battery operated impact wrench.
