EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (M.A.T.)

Seton Hill’s Master of Arts in Teaching: Early Childhood Education is designed just for people who want to earn their master’s degree and prepare for Pre-K to Grade 4 teaching certification together. This unique program, housed within the School of Education and Applied Social Sciences, is dedicated to the preparation of classroom teachers who:

• Provide students with equitable and differentiated learning opportunities.

• Communicate in culturally and linguistically appropriate ways.

• Advocate for socially-conscious change.

Program Format & Time Commitment

This 30 credit master’s in teaching program combines online courses with in-person field experience and 12 weeks of student teaching. The 10 online courses are taught in 8-week sessions. You have the option of graduating in 1 year by taking 2 courses per session, or in 2 years by taking 1 course per session. The 12 weeks of in-person student teaching occurs after all coursework has been completed. This degree program begins every year in June.
