ASPIRATIONAL PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE
An A-Level is an advanced qualification offered across a range of subjects, typically accessible to school leavers (students aged 16 to 18). The programme is a 2-year course taught similarly to your GCSEs, with your grades obtained from your final exams which take place at the end of the two years. Whilst subjects are mostly exam-based, some ALevel options, such as Art or History, require you to complete coursework or controlled assessments during the year which will count towards your final grade.
A-Levels can take you to higher education (university), high-level apprenticeships or even directly into employment depending on your career goals.

“I studied A-Levels, including London Institute of Banking and Finance. My time at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College has been great, I received a Distinction* in every exam/assignment and have been accepted in to Oxford University to study Law. I thank Shooters Hill Sixth Form College for their support through my journey and my advice for the next generation would be to get your head down from the 1st year, teachers are your friends, not your enemies.”
T-Levels are a qualification designed to give you a head start towards the future you want. They follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A-Levels.
The 2 year T-Level qualification brings classroom and work placement together on a course designed with employers and businesses. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45 day placement, to give you the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.
Your T-Level will help you to step straight in to your chosen career, an apprenticeship or a degree. Wherever your future is heading, take it to the next level.
