Minutes of the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission Advisory Board July 24, 2024 Members Present: Doyle Adams, Chairman Clay Bohanan, City of Bossier Stacy Brown, Visit Shreveport-Bossier Jeff Free, City of Bossier Shaun Houston, City of Shreveport Patrick Wesley, City of Shreveport Not Present: Stormy Gage-Watts, Caddo Parish Commission Bob Brotherton, Bossier Parish Police Jury Shantel Hardison, Caddo Parish Commission Guest / Staff Present: Sara Aymond-Nelms Aaron Bronson Cicely Parson Charlie Rice Call to Order The regularly scheduled meeting of the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission (SBSC) Advisory Board was held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Visit Shreveport-Bossier Office at 629 Spring St, Shreveport, LA. Doyle Adams, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8:37 a.m. A quorum was present. Agenda The agenda of the July 24, 2024 meeting was reviewed. Mr. Bohanan made a motion to approved, seconded by Mr. Wesley. All in favor none opposed with no public comment. Minutes The Minutes of the June 26, 2024 meeting was reviewed. Following review, Mr. Wesley made a motion to approve, seconded by Mr. Bohanan. Financial Report Mr. Bronson reviewed the June financials with the board. Mr. Bohanan made a motion to approve, seconded by Mr. Free. All in favor none opposed with no public comment. Events Update/Discussion A. Red River Balloon Rally – Great turn out on Friday and Saturday night. Pilots happy with weatherable to fly both days over Bossier. Good publicity with balloons flying over both cities. B. Diamond Youth Baseball World Series – 34 teams arriving for check in at Tinsley, no hotels available in the area. Advised to direct all calls to VSB to give hotel options. Presale passes sold a total of $14K as of today.
