Doors will open at 7:45 a.m. to accommodate early shoppers. Over 100 vendor spaces are available, and interested crafters are invited to reserve limited space by calling (717) 589-3598. A great variety of hand crafted merchandise, gifts, and decorating items will be featured for sale. The annual event is planned each year to coincide with Easter, Mother’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day

and spring house cleaning and decorating. MCSI recommends the show as “one of the finest shows that is held in Central Pennsylvania.” Each year, hundreds of shoppers visit the show to find special gifts for themselves, for others, and for decorating their homes—it’s a spring tradition that you won’t want to miss. The show is a great place to find items for Easter Baskets and the MCSI urges everyone to shop at home and support the local economy right here in Perry County and buy gifts that are made in the USA. Delicious refreshments will be sold throughout the day including breakfast items and sandwiches, and admission is always free to the show. EVENT: Plans have been finalized for the annual Pinochle card party sponsored by the Millerstown Lions Club in Millerstown. The event will be held on Saturday, March 3 at the Greenwood Elementary School just off Route 17 East in Millerstown Borough, Perry County. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the party will begin at 6 p.m. sharp.

This annual event has been held by the Millerstown Lions for many years and is recognized as one of the most popular events of its kind in the area. Prizes generously donated by local businesses will be awarded to the lucky winners and nearly everyone is guaranteed a prize. In addition to the prizes given out, there is usually an auction of different items so players should come prepared to find some bargains during the auction. Profits from the annual event benefits Lions District 14T projects including sight, diabetes, Beacon Lodge, Leader Dog and many others. Cost of the party is only $8 per person, which includes refreshments. Local residents are invited to get out of the house after the long winter to enjoy a fun evening of cards, refreshments, and fellowship while helping the many projects that Lions Clubs support. EVENTS: Commemorating Ickesburg Bi-centennial 2018 is no easy task for the many volunteers, who are eagerly preparing for the July 24-29 celebration to be held at the Ickesburg Volunteer Fire Company grounds. In conjunction with the annual carnival, the 200th birthday bash

will feature the replica of the beloved Vietnam Memorial Wall, from Thurs., July 26 – July 29 at the edge of the popular carnival grounds in Ickesburg. Open to the public for viewing, and searching for names of friends and relatives, the wall ( AVTT ) once set up by days end on July 26 will be ready for free access by the public. The Ickesburg Bi-Centennial committee says that planned special services each evening from 6 pm – 8 pm., at the wall, welcome public participation. “Days Gone By “ is the theme for the planned parade on July 28 starting at 10 am from the East end of Ickesburg. Organizations and interested folks are encouraged to enter a float based on the theme, or march in the special event, becoming a part of living history. Jim Swenson, of Swenson Fuels, New Bloomfield, has volunteered his expertise in fire company parade planning, can provide additional information ( 717-582-2833 ). Gary Eby, New Bloomfield, long time fire company participant, and event planner, is also volunteering with the group. Along with the crocks and textiles to commemorate the event, the Ickesburg Bi-Centennial Committee has commissioned, a one of a kind, Henry Rifle, sporting an engraving of the Ickesburg Bi-Centennial logo, to be raffled on July 28 . The rifle is a Henry Lever Action 22 with Octagon Barrel Model #H001T. The Ickesburg Bi-Centennial committee is tirelessly working on fundraising, and planning for The Day’s Gone By Celebration. It is the devil’s purpose to destroy our lives and cause us to focus on the opposite of the above. He seems to be winning the last couple of weeks and with all the killings and terroristic threats. It’s scary to think about what they might come up with to secure our schools but some-

thing needs to be done. The other day our grand daughter bought her 2nd grader a bullet proof shield that fits in her book bag. Of course in many schools they don’t even allow you to have book bags anymore. Thus once again I refer to the above scriptures. So thankful to have easy access to Christian music that I can fill my brain with everyday. God does want us to have life and have it more abundantly. The scriptures tell us how to live and what to focus on to have such a life the trick is to apply His words to our lives and to live by them.

I’m very thankful that the whole world isn’t bad. I’m thankful for all the good people I come across in our community. People that work to serve us. People that are there when things go south. I’m thankful to live in the United States of America where we do have choice of religion and choices to carry a gun or not to carry a gun. I’m thankful for the voting system that we have.

Things aren’t perfect here in the United States but I’m thankful that we can have discussions and come up with viable solutions. I will continue to pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven and I will continue to Praise and Worship a great God who gives me life and life more abundantly. He is the only one that gives me peace

The Perry Historians reproduced the original Perry County Flag from 1995, which was designed by Duncannon artist, Scotty Brown. Adding the county bi-centennial dates ( 1820-2020 ) to the nylon flags, produced locally by Artistic Image, Newport, increases the collectability, and makes for a grand way to express one’s Perry County Pride!

Delicious refreshments will be sold throughout the day including breakfast items and sandwiches, and admission is always free to the show.

This annual event has been held by the Millerstown Lions for many years and is recognized as one of the most popular events of its kind in the area. In addition to the prizes given out, there is usually an auction of different items so players should come prepared to find some bargains during the auction. Profits from the annual event benefits Lions District 14T projects including sight, diabetes, Beacon Lodge, Leader Dog and many others. Guardians of Perry County records and historical events, The Perry Historians open their library, in Airy View Schoolhouse, for genealogical researches and special projects. Volunteers help guide patrons through the archives, publications, and various resources.

EVENTS: Commemorating Ickesburg Bi-centennial 2018 is no easy task for the many volunteers, who are eagerly preparing for the July 24-29 celebration to be held at the Ickesburg Volunteer Fire Company grounds. In conjunction with the annual carnival, the 200th birthday bash will feature the replica of the beloved Vietnam Memorial Wall, from Thurs., July 26 – July 29 at the edge of the popular carnival grounds in Ickesburg. Open to the public for viewing, and searching for names of friends and relatives, the wall ( AVTT ) once set up by days end on July 26 will be ready for

free access by the public.

The Ickesburg Bi-Centennial committee says that planned special services each evening from 6 pm – 8 pm., at the wall, welcome public participation. “Days Gone By “ is the theme for the planned parade on July 28 starting at 10 am from the East end of Ickesburg.

Organizations and interested folks are encouraged to enter a float based on the theme, or march in the special event, becoming a part of living history. Jim Swenson, of Swenson Fuels, New Bloomfield, has volunteered his expertise in fire company parade planning, can provide additional information ( 717582-2833 ). Gary Eby, New Bloomfield, long time fire company participant, and event planner, is also volunteering with the group.
