FRIDAY, JUNE 6th & SATURDAY, June 7th Once again Zimmerman Truck Lines will host Children’s Miracle Network Kid’s Funfest. Ellie and her family will have her famous bake sale at ZTL on Saturday June 7th from 11 to 4. and also Friday June 6th from 3 to 8 at our house 401 Walnut St, Millerstown. We are asking for bakers, buyers and monetary donations to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital. Last year thanks to the generosity of family, friends and community we were able to raise $10,000.

YES that was the total from just Ellie’s Bake Sale.We know last year’s number will be tough to beat, but let’s see what we can do together to help kids in this region have access to the best equipment and services around. Last month I was thankful to run the ture meaning of Memorial Day and a small tribute to the families and those who have lost their precious loved ones in this world awaiting to be reunited in the New Earth and Heaven to come. I received this touching note from Jason’s parents. I have lost a son but not in war but it just showed me how important it is to the loved ones of our fallen to continue to honor our verterans and their families. Hats off to all of you who do Poker Runs , Wounded Warrior Runs, Veteran Parades and all the various events to honor the fallen Heroes of our Nation and their families. So true, it is comforting to us, the families, to have our loved ones remembered. the loss of our loved one is so difficult. His casualty was our sacrifice BUT to have him forgotten is like another casualty to us.

Everyday is a struggle. On memorial Day families gather at picnics, pool parties, BBQ’s, but our gathering is at a Memoral Event and our family member is missing.

Our hearts are empty and are only filled with tears and memories.

When our Jason was called to Heaven by God to start his eternal life, we had two fears - (1) How do we live without him and (2) will people forget him.
