Theme: “Down on the Farm” Entertainment nightly, Bartlebaugh Amusements, food, Chicken BBQ, Games, Fireworks, Car Show, Chinese Auction (fire hall), more. Parade at 4pm. Forms at back lot of Rickenbaugh Building Supply and ends at Bread of life. “Down on the Farm” theme.

CHICKEN BAR-B-Q HIGHLIGHTS MILLERSTOWN HOMECOMING DAY The tradition in Millerstown has always been a Homecoming day on the Sunday preceding the annual Millerstown Firemen’s Carnival.

This year will be no exception. On Sunday, August 3 activities will begin with outdoor church services at 10 a.m. on the carnival grounds at the Millerstown Community Park just outside of Millerstown on Old Route 22 ( 110 W Juniata Parkway).

Afternoon activities will also begin with a Chicken BarB-Q sponsored by the Millerstown Lions Club. The Millerstown Lions are famous for their Bar-B-Q chicken and serving will begin at 4 p.m. under a tent on the carnival grounds. Halves of chicken will sell for $5; dinners will be $7. Dinners include baked beans, potato chips, drink, Hall’s ice cream, and rolls. In case of rain, patrons will be able to enjoy their meal under the protection of a large tent with ample seating capacity.

Proceeds from the chicken Bar-B-Q will benefit many Lions projects including the Christmas Lighting program in Millerstown.

Area residents are encouraged to support the Millerstown Lions Club and purchase chicken on August

4 and enjoy the other events of Millerstown Homecoming Day as well as support the Millerstown Firemen during the whole next week August 4-9. For additional information, please phone Bob Brofee at 5893052.
