and maintain mental well-being in the face of adversity. It is a crucial trait that empowers individuals to not only survive but thrive in the most trying times of their lives. I like to think of our Mental resilience as our bounceability factor!
Mental resilience equips individuals with the tools to manage their emotions effectively. It allows them to acknowledge their feelings, whether positive or negative, without being overwhelmed by them. By doing so, they can maintain a balanced emotional state, reducing the risk of prolonged periods of stress, anxiety, or depression. All of which will affect every part of our lives.
Resilient individuals tend to make more rational and effective decisions, even in high-pressure situations. They can think clearly and stay focused on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. This clarity of thought is invaluable in both personal and professional life.

People with mental resilience often have better interpersonal relationships. They are more empathetic, understanding, and supportive of others during difficult times. Embrace the belief that challenges and failures are opportunities for growth, not insurmountable obstacles. A growth mindset encourages learning from experiences and viewing setbacks as stepping stones to success. Failing Forward by John Maxwell is one of my favorite books. It will help you see how failing or falling short is actually your way of learning a new skill set and you should look forward to it!

Cultivate meaningful relationships with friends, family, or support groups. Connecting with others during tough times provides emotional support, perspective, and a sense of belonging. This is true in both work and business. Join friend groups or business networking groups and take the time to develop the relationships that can support you when times are tough.

Be kind and understanding to yourself. Self-criticism or self-bullying can erode resilience. Instead, treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer to a friend facing a similar situation. Establish achievable goals and break them into smaller, manageable steps. This approach helps maintain a sense of control and accomplishment, even in challenging circumstances.

Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep are essential for mental resilience Physical well-being is closely linked to emotional and psychological well-being. Be very clear that food is fuel and that your brain is operating off that fuel so give it great food!
Develop problem-solving skills to tackle challenges systematically. Break complex problems into smaller, solvable components and approach them one step at a time. Breaking down big challenges into smaller parts helps to give you the boost of feeling accomplished at each step.
Accept that change is a constant part of life
Being flexible and adaptable allows you to adjust your plans and expectations when needed. Truly change is our only constant in life. When you understand that change is always coming, you develop the ability to flex easier when needed

No parent or caregiver wants to hear the words, "We may need to test your child." First of all, what does that mean? And it sounds scary. However, the earlier a child can be tested and diagnosed if they are on the autism spectrum, the more they can overcome and be more successful in life. In this article, I will share parts of my story and journey as a mother of three, with two kids on the spectrum, along with helping to gear you to know if your child should be tested for Autism, what to do, and how to help you and your child best. This is not just their story; it's yours too.
We hear the words ASD or autism spectrum disorder now more than ten or even twenty years ago. What does it mean exactly?
It is a cluster of disorders that affects brain development, leading to problems with communication, thinking, and socializing. One in thirty-six children by age eight are now diagnosed with ASD and it’s more boys than girls. So, I thought this was an important topic for my parenting article, and autism has been a part of my life for the past 20 years.
Interestingly, twenty years ago, the diagnosis was one in about one hundred and fifty children. In the 1980's, about one point five children in one hundred thousand were diagnosed. What an astronomical growth over the past forty-plus years. That certainly makes us wonder why and how. It's also more complicated for girls to get diagnosed than boys. One reason is the testing has been more geared towards boys. Also, girls with ASD tend to have anxiety, depression, and sometimes eating disorders. So those tend to get diagnosed first, thus delaying an ASD diagnosis if one is present.
There are several reasons and beliefs for the jump in the numbers. One is the use and availability of screenings for Autism. At most pediatricians’ offices, a parent or caregiver is given a screening form or form asking specific questions that gather information about the child to let a doctor know if that particular child should be tested for Autism. These screenings are happening earlier and earlier in a child’s life. Pre-schools and daycares now screen more than they used to. Pediatric Neurologists are also doctors that can help with screening your child Awareness is another reason for more diagnosis More and more people are aware or might even know someone with a family member on the spectrum. Data shows that the younger Autism is detected and therapies applied, the more success a child has at overcoming many challenges with ASD.
I can confirm this from my own experience with two of my children. I want to preface by saying that my oldest daughter had sensory issues and texture sensitivity to foods Still, twenty-two years ago, doctors were not screening or diagnosing as much. Hence, what she was dealing with went undetected, and she did not get the help she needed. I was not educated, nor did her pediatrician guide me. She told me, "Oh, she will outgrow it." Well, she never did, but throughout her life, with all that I learned, I have been able to apply and teach her beneficial things, and she still uses them.
My middle daughter and my son were both language impaired. My daughter was also developmentally delayed, which meant she was presenting as an eighteenmonth-old at two and a half years of age. She has sensory issues and NOS, which means non other specified or something else is going on, and they were not sure what diagnosis to give. My son could not swallow at birth, and because of my experience with his sister, I could tell very early that he needed to be screened. Besides his language impairment and delay, he was diagnosed with level two autism, sensory processing disorder, fine motor skills issues, cognitive processing, and a few more have been added throughout his life.
The good news is that there are many different tools and resources to help if your child is diagnosed with ASD. First, lets discuss what to do. Sometimes, a child is born with something that is evident or can be seen that needs help or interventions. And sometimes, a child is born and meets their milestones or is maybe a little behind This is where it gets tricky. Suppose you, as the parent or caregiver, "feel" that something is "off," or you are watching your child with behavior or behaviors that concern you. In that case, the first thing to do is discuss it with your child's doctor. The doctor then should give you a form that will ask questions. These questions will lead the doctor to know if further testing is needed
If your child's doctor does not seem concerned or consider your concerns, then you need to find a doctor who will listen. No one knows a child better than their parent or caregiver. If your child is
of school age and their teacher approaches you with concerns, please listen to what they say The school can test a child also for any challenges a child might have. A child can be diagnosed at any age, but the earlier it is caught and addressed, the better. To receive services in school a child must have a valid diagnosis. This can be medical or educational depending on who does the assessment. Some schools will require both.
Now, if your child receives a diagnosis, you need to work closely with your child's doctor because they will guide you and connect you with therapists and therapy if your child needs it. The most common therapies a child needs are speech, occupational, and physical therapy. However, there are also behavioral, mental, and emotional, as well as feeding therapies that may apply to your child. Any combination of these therapies might be used depending on what a child’s needs are or what their diagnosis is
Having little or no reactions to loud sounds or turning their head towards loud sounds
Little or no eye contact when spoken to.
Has difficulty following objects with their eyes.
Upon hearing their name, they do not respond.
Plays by themselves or beside other children (parallel play)
Has trouble communicating their thoughts, feelings, and needs and interpreting those of others
May flap arms or spin
These are just a few signs, and there are more, but these are the most obvious. Even though a child is born with Autism, it may not present itself early. The typical age is between two and a half to three years. Screening and diagnosing are essential and key to a child's success and ability to overcome their challenges if they have ASD. Think of it this way: when you go to the doctor sick, if you don't get the correct diagnosis, you can't take the right medicine to get better. It is the same with ASD.
There is so much to discuss on this subject, but I hope this will help anyone on this journey with a child have more knowledge and be empowered. Remember, you are your child's voice-their advocate. It is not hopeless in fact, it is quite the opposite. Because my children with ASD were diagnosed early enough, they received early intervention and conquered many challenges. My daughter is in her second year of college studying animation and filmmaking; she sings with her sister and has written a novel. She didn't speak clearly until she was close to six. My son is in the regular classroom, is now level one autism, plays soccer, drums, and wants to be a scientist.
There is hope. Please be proactive, conn with other parents and families to share story, learn from them, and get the supp need. Reach out to different organizatio where you live. Life was idyllic during my early years, filled with the cherished memories of weekend trips with my parents, carefree hours spent playing with friends, and the nostalgic tales shared by my wise grandmother about the golden days of yore. At the tender age of five, I fell victim to a vicious sore throat and ear infection My worried mother rushed me to the doctor's office, and the pediatrician prescribed a course of penicillin and advised rest. Little did we know that this seemingly innocent incident would lead to a string of lifealtering events.
For ten days, I rested in bed, dutifully taking the prescribed medication. But on the tenth night, something unusual happened. As my mother tucked me in, she noticed that my lips appeared redder than usual. Alarmed, she went to bed with a sense of unease.
The following morning, at the crack of dawn, my mother awoke to unsettling sounds emanating from my room. It was as if I was choking on my own saliva. Hastening into my bedroom, she was horrified to find me turning blue, caught in the throes of a grand mal seizure. This was my first debilitating encounter with such a terrifying episode.
Lost in the chaos of the seizure, I collapsed to the floor, my eyes rolling to the left as my entire body convulsed My teeth chattered, and foam spewed from my mouth as I struggled to breathe my skin losing its natural hue due to the lack of oxygen.
But within the depths of such adversity, I discovered an unwavering resilience that resonated within me. Refusing to be defeated by the formidable challenges before me, I summoned an inner strength I never knew I possessed and forged ahead, determined to shape a future brighter and more beautiful than ever before.
After much deliberation, the doctors arrived at a startling conclusion: I had been afflicted by a virus called encephalitis. This virus, they explained, had been ferried to my brain by the bacteria from my previous ear infection. To make matters worse, the virus had settled in my brain, leaving me vulnerable and in extreme danger. The projections were grim: if I survived, it was likely that I would suffer from severe brain damage or even become paralyzed.
The news devastated my parents, but they refused to succumb to despair. Instead, they clung desperately to hope. As I lay in a medically-induced coma for four long days, my father, a man of unwavering faith, beseeched a saint in Greece for divine intervention. With fervent prayer, he visualized the statue in front of his old church, a statue that had been claimed to shed tears. And in an incredible twist of fate, as my father raised his head and opened his eyes, he witnessed a teardrop rolling down my face. It was as if an otherworldly force had reached out, bestowing
upon me a second chance at life. Immediately after that surreal moment, I awoke from my coma. Astonishingly, tests revealed no significant brain damage. However, the infection had left scar tissue in its wake, irreversibly marking me with epilepsy. Years of debilitating seizures followed.
But I pressed on, refusing to allow my condition to define me. After countless trials, medical experiments, and exhaustive searches for the right antiseizure medication, my seizures were finally brought under control. With my epilepsy managed, I was granted permission to drive, a monumental milestone in my journey towards independence and autonomy.
At the age of eighteen, I finally held in my hands the sacred symbol of freedom: my driver's license The world was suddenly within my reach, and I reveled in the newfound ability to pick up my friends and whisk them away to the mall We indulged ourselves, shopping until we dropped, creating treasured memories along the way. We gladly shared our latest purchases, conducting impromptu fashion shows and laughing together as we squeezed into new, too-tight jeans.
A speaker, coach, and 20-time best-selling author! With a track record like that, it's no wonder she was chosen as one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs in 2023 at Apple News, showcased within a feature in Grit Daily!
But fate, as it often does, had another plan. While out driving with my boyfriend, now my husband, tragedy struck once again. This time, a force beyond my control took hold of my body, sending me into yet another terrifying seizure. My boyfriend fought valiantly for control of the vehicle as I desperately wrestled with the seizure's imminent threat. Miraculously, we avoided a horrific accident, but my driving privileges were swiftly revoked, casting a dark shadow over my once-thriving social life.
No longer able to hop into my car and experience the freedom I had fought so hard for, I felt imprisoned within the confines of my own home Simple pleasures, like savoring a cup of coffee at Dunkin' Donuts or browsing through Blockbuster for a video, were unattainable luxuries. My existence became intertwined with the mercy of others' schedules.
A profound sense of isolation enveloped me. Unaccustomed to relying on others for assistance, I languished in a state of loneliness. As a strong and independent individual, I was determined to care for myself and forge my own path. But the barriers imposed by epilepsy threatened to shatter the dreams I held dear. My confidence wavered, my self-esteem plummeted to new depths. How could I ever achieve success with this constant companion of mine? What was my purpose in life? Depression consumed me, and I found myself hiding from the outside world, trapped in a seemingly endless cycle of despair
Deep within me, a flicker of resilience burned. Despite the
me, I took a leap of faith and pursued a higher education at Stockton University. Against all odds, I was determined to conquer adversity and prove to myself and the world that my epilepsy would not define me.
In one particular college class, I suffered a seizure, collapsing to the floor amidst a sea of silence My classmates stared at me, their expressions filled with mixed emotions Even the person I least expected to show empathy wore a face adorned with remorse. It was undoubtedly one of the lowest points in my life. But then, in a moment of unexpected kindness, my professor broke through the tension With a calm and understanding voice, he asked if I was okay, remarking that his former roommate had successfully navigated life with epilepsy. In that instant, the atmosphere shifted, the ice broken, and I felt safe in the embrace of his classroom

5 - 6 beef short ribs
1 1/2 teaspoons each salt and pepper
½ cup flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, crushed
1 large, sweet onion, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cups dry red wine
2 cups beef stock/broth, low sodium
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
2 bay leaves
¼ ounce dried porcini mushrooms or fresh large button mushrooms,sliced
2 cups cooked Polenta prepared according to directions
2 sprigs thyme and Rosemary for garnish
A hearty, rich and delicious comfort food for family dinner that is finger-licking good-there will be no leftovers!
Reheat the oven to 325°F
Mix flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl
Pat the short ribs dry and sprinkle all over with flour mixture.
Heat oil in a large ovenproof pot over high heat. Add half the ribs and brown all over. Remove and repeat with remaining ribs, then remove
Turn heat down to medium
Add onion and garlic into the same pot and cook for 2 minutes
Add carrot and celery, cook for 5 minutes until carrot is softened and sweet
Add tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
Add wine, broth, thyme, and bay leaves. Stir until tomato paste is dissolved.
Return short ribs to pan, arranging them so they are submerged in the liquid.
Cover with lid and cook in the oven for about 3 hours, or until the meat has begun pulling away from the bone and is fork tender
Remove short ribs, keeping the meat on the bone.
Bring to a simmer and stir in mushrooms. Simmer to reduce/thicken, add broth to thin if necessary, and season with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Place polenta on a serving plate, top with short ribs and spoon over sauce Garnish with rosemary and thyme sprigs
1/4 cup butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1-21 ounce can cherry pie filling
Preheat the oven to 350°F Place butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish and set on the oven rack to melt. Remove the baking dish from the oven as soon as butter has melted. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir in milk and then pour the flour mixture into the baking dish with melted butter DO NOT STIR
4 Next, pour cherry pie filling evenly into the pan DO NOT STIR
5 Bake cherry cobbler for 50 to 60 minutes, until the sides pull away from the edges of the pan and the cake is golden brown
6. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
One bite and its pure love The texture and crunch of the sugar coating make these fresh cherries extra special.
2 dozen whole fresh cherries with stems still attached
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon water
Wash cherries and pat dry.
In a shallow bowl, mix water and egg whites to make egg wash
Pour colored sprinkles in bowls, using a different bowl for each color.
Dip cherries in egg wash and dip in sugar. Place on a plate to dry, repeat with all cherries
Serve as an alternative to candy or use as garnishes for desserts

Over the past year I have spent much of my curiosity unraveling what was once believed to be true so I could look past the lies I (and probably you) have been programmed with and into the kernel of truth waiting to be discovered. This exercise of asking “what if this were not true, what would I see, ” has shifted how I look at everything.
Every day I am blessed with new understanding and a completely different way to look at the world. The Universal Law of Polarity has helped me with this process (opposites are the same) and this Law has actually turned in on itself (a circle and then infinity sign) allowing me to get even deeper into what lies behind the lies. I would like to share one shift in perspective with you if you are ready to believe again.
You might have heard about the masculine and feminine energy. In this belief you heard stories that shaped your belief about yourself, about others, and about how you should or should not respond in any given scenario. You have been put into a box, working on enhancing your feminine side, stepping into a more masculine side, releasing the masculine/feminine wounds. You have been mis-guided.
In an enlightened quest for truth, I do not look at energy quite the same. I look at what frequency is being resonated at this moment. So, let’s take a peek at what I am talking about.
Why frequency rather than energy? Energy is a result and is proportional to its frequency. Therefore,
frequency is what creates energy. If I want to understand something, I want to understand its source, not its result.
Frequency, the creator of energy, is considered to be finer and less dense than energy, and more impactful. Shifting frequency has a greater impact and is easier to manipulate than energy You can change your
“frequency” and directly impact your energy. You are your own master.
Masculine energy is said to be assertive and bold. Based on this perspective, we are led to believe that men with this trait are go-getters while women are seen to be rough around the
edges. If we call this assertive (or what I call confident) frequency instead, then we drop the illusion of male and female and step into the reality of you having a knowing moment. You can feel it.
Masculine energy is said to be logical and objective, having us believe that emotions we may have (energy in motion) is less than productive. Emotions actually are how our body tells us something is off or something is great. This “masculine” perspective discounts the huge value of feeling into a moment and tapping into your intuitive power. Shift your thinking into this being an objective frequency and you can easily see the value of intuition creating an idea to be manifested and the objective frequency makes it so.
Masculine energy is seen to be risk-taking and action-taking. I know more and more females in the entrepreneurial world taking risks and taking action every day. If we look at this as action frequency, we can see the objective frequency from before stepping up into this creative frequency of getting stuff done. Creating something new, a little different, a little better requires risk and action and knowing the right action requires intuition
Masculine energy is believed to be non-judgmental. This would lead you to believe that feminine energy is that of jealousy and manipulation. Many have bought into this lie, and this has created sister-hood wounds and feminine disconnect. If we look at this as judgment frequency, we can translate this into understanding Karma, the law of cause and effect, the ability to see truth and bring that into the collective Seeing what “is” as simply fact is neither judgment or non-judgement It simply is
Undaunted Ambition – this is a frequency of wanting more, for improvement, of curiosity. This is building community and moving forward. This is desire. This is delicious. This is juicy.
Clarity of Focus – this is a frequency of nurturing and collaboration. This is planning the seed, so we weather the storms, knowing the purpose of life and why it is so important
Generosity of Heart – this is the frequency of healing, love, and vulnerability This is giving, charity, healing, and the expansion of yourself for the benefit of others.
Fiercely Protective Instinct – this is the frequency of nurturing. This is circling the wagons for survival, for continuity, and for love.
As you question your beliefs and look at potential perspectives that are a little different than what you have been led to believe is true, you give yourself permission to be free and be you. Step into the world of Alice In Wonderland and discover, as she did, the truth.
There is no masculine energy, there is no feminine energy, there is a frequency of healing, grace, love, and it is an all-encompassing frequency that is that of the “Gods.” You have it. I have it. Collectively, tapping into it, we are unstoppable.
There is so much buried under a mountain of stories we were raised with and have based our life choices on that is now surfacing, with the truth shining through. My book was reborn!
I changed the name of my book to “InPerson & Virtual Events That Rock: 21st Century Tips, Strategies and Processes. I hired a publisher, and my book made number eighteen internationally in Canada. It was Best-Seller in “Homebased Business” and number one in New Release in a few other categories
Ideas turn into things, and energy flows where the action goes. ” I sold over one thousand dollars in pre-sales, and since the shipment of books has arrived, I have sold over three thousand in revenue

Digestive Woes Low Energy Poor Sleep Weight Loss Resistance
These are the top 4 health concerns that I hear from my clients. The good thing is - they are intertwined. The bad thing is - they are intertwined. And getting to the root cause and removing the blockades to health and vitality is rather like pulling on a string in a knotted up pile of yarn - if you pull the right string, the whole system seems to resolve and the path to healing reveals itself.
It’s easier said than done. But the journey is one worth taking.
And while there are many roads home when you take a functional medicine approach, there is one pathway we all have to take. We simply MUST prioritize sleep as sleep is often just the string that needs a little attention to remove the knot
Of course, as women, we often put off going to bed and quickly deprioritize sleep when life gets a little overwhelming Maybe it's because our kids are finally asleep, and we want to enjoy some quiet time. Maybe we are working on a business and are pushing ourselves to hit deadlines and reach goals. Maybe we are just tired of not understanding why we go to bed exhausted but can’t seem to find restful sleep - either struggling to fall asleep or stay asleep or both!
Sometimes the key to being able to put sleep at the top of our to-do list is simply understanding why it’s so important and then having easy actionable steps to take.
While it looks like you are just lying in bed, your body is actively restoring and repairing itself while you sleep. If you are a strongly goal oriented woman, you may put sleep on the backburner by seeing it as ‘wasted productivity time’. In actuality, your body is working just as hard when you sleep as you do during the day! Poor sleeping habits also make it virtually impossible to meet and maintain our health goals.
Consistently getting poor sleep causes our bodies to make more cortisol throughout the day As part of the stress response, cortisol increases blood sugar levels even in those who have been making healthy food choices that otherwise would support more balanced blood sugar That’s right, the stress of poor sleep in and of itself can lead to type 2 diabetes!
Poor sleep makes it harder to make better dietary choices. The hormones that help us regulate hunger go a little wonky when we don’t sleep well, which leads us to feel more hunger as well as makes us more prone to making choices that give us a quick burst of energy, which spike our blood sugar
The increased blood sugar upon waking as well as the bursts we get from our food choices, leads to our energy levels bouncing up and down The post meal fatigue that results often leads to reaching for more coffee and sugary snacks.
A sleep deprived body is a body with an immune response that starts to fall out of balance. We need a properly balanced immune response to ward off illness as well as avoid (or reverse)
autoimmune disease One possible victim of this imbalance can happen in the gut as damage occurs from inflammatory molecules If you have gut inflammation, you may not sleep well And if you don’t sleep well, it can cause gut inflammation!
We live in a world rife with toxins. And while we can’t avoid them completely, we can help our bodies clear them with deep, solid sleep. Our brains actually shrink during sleep to help facilitate toxin removal. And our liver, our primary detox organ, is most metabolically active and clearing toxins between 1 and 3 am if we are asleep
Pay attention to your sleep bus.
Taking the journey to Dream Land requires that you climb aboard your sleep bus The honking of the bus is that first wave of sleepiness you get at night - often between 8:30 and 10 Your bus will wait while you get ready for bed However, like most buses, if you keep it waiting too long, it will pull away When it does, you may get a second burst of energy Unfortunately that energy was meant to start the clean up process that happens during sleep not for you to get one more task done So start paying attention to that first wave of sleep and try to honor it Even if it does mean an earlier bedtime than you may like
are better for sleep as blue light sends a signal to your brain to be more alert and blocks the release of melatonin, our key sleep hormone. Sleep masks are also wonderful ways to keep your eyes shrouded in darkness during the night. While waiting for your sleep mask to arrive, look for sources of light in your bedroom and see if you can turn them off or put dark tape over them to make them less.
Blocking the light isn’t enough
You need to put down the phone and walk away. Tasks on our phone give us hits of dopamine as part of a reward response. Dopamine further blocks the release of melatonin and makes sleep elusive.
but also maybe not too far away. For most people without metabolic issues, letting the digestive system be done digesting a few hours before bed leads to better sleep. However, if you wake up with a panicked feeling around 2-3 am, you may need to find a very small evening snack that does not impact your blood sugar in a dramatic way.
Reset your natural sleep cycle
by letting light into your bedroom when you wake up. Ideally, getting morning sun on your face for at least 5 minutes as close to waking up is the best. But even if it's a walk outside before work or on a morning break, any exposure to light during the day can help you sleep at night.
Remember, achieving restorative sleep involves adopting healthy habits and making gradual changes to your routine. It's important to find what works best for you and create a sleep routine that supports your overall well-being. When I graduated as an Acupuncture Physician in 1995, I was deeply entrenched in the belief that Chinese Medicine was the pinnacle of healing. Over the years, I've helped numerous patients find relief from a gamut of conditions, spanning chronic pain to emotional distress. However, the journey towards understanding the complexity of human health is never-ending. I have had cases where patients felt great post-treatment but would return later with the same complaints. I started to wonder, "Why didn't the treatments hold?"
To unearth answers, I delved into extensive research and courses A recurring pattern emerged: many complaints were tethered to allergies and sensitivities A couple of patient stories particularly underscore this revelation
For instance, I was once referred to as a policeman suffering from debilitating sciatica. A single session was enough to alleviate his pain permanently, as he informed me years later when he brought his mother for treatment and I asked him if he didn’t like the treatment since I never heard from him again. His mother, whose symptoms ranged from generalized aches to feelings of constant unwellness, had almost given up hope of ever feeling good again after, what she thought, was caused by a spider bite The doctors didn’t believe her, and thought it was all in her head
Their drug treatments didn’t do anything to alleviate any of her symptoms. She had pain all over her body, was tired due to lack of sleep from having pain, and depressed because she felt so bad. Treating her for a spider bite as an allergy made all the symptoms vanish miraculously. These incidents were an eye-opener, revealing that one-time treatments could be profoundly impactful if correctly diagnosed.
Another intriguing case was a regular patient who experienced a sudden sciatica attack Despite applying four different acupuncture modalities, the pain persisted.
However, when I found out that he had consumed double Cuban coffee earlier that day - his boss had treated him, since it was cold that day - 65 degrees in South Florida is considered cold, I treated him for an allergy to coffee.
Miraculously,hispaindisappeared withinminutes
Since these revelations, I've incorporated basic allergy and sensitivity eliminations in my treatments, whether or not patients report having allergies. Sometimes a patient would say - Hey, it’s my knee that hurts, I don’t have any allergies!

I had a patient who had been to her GP for her annua and he told her that her bloo sugar was a little elevated - b not to worry, next year when you come, and if the test shows you ’ re diabetic, we’ll p you on medication!
She told me this while I treated her for back pain, and I asked if that was what she wanted - become diabetic. Her answer was no, of course not
Another worrying aspect is the prevalence of chemicals like glyphosate in our environment Recent studies and reports from agencies like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have highlighted how widespread glyphosate is, even showing up in human urine samples. This chemical, found in Roundup, can damage the nervous system,
penetrate the bloodbrain barrier, and increase the risk of neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
A recent study also shows that women who have glyphosate showing in their urine, have babies born with lower birth rate.

Changing her diet, doing intermittent fasting, putting her on some herbs, and some exercises got her blood sugar down to a healthy level I had her do one more thing - get a Continuous Glucose Monitor, or a CGM for a couple of months, so she could see for herself which food spiked her blood sugar, so she could stay away from them, and which ones brought it down, so she could add more of themalways more fresh veggies

In 2010 Monsanto was awarded a patent for glyphosate as an antibiotic - did you know that?That means that by eating non organic foods, you can acquire overgrowth of bacteria, and then you add all the sugar consumption, often without knowing, that also adds to the prevalent Candida Albicans
This overgrowth of bacteria causes many ailments, not only vaginal yeast infection, urinary tract infection, nail fungus, but also foggy thinking, all kinds of digestive issues, skin issues, depression and many more problems.
When you add this to the sugar consumption - beverages being the biggest culprit - but also the consumption of sugary foods from simple carbs, like in bread, cakes, cookies, pizza, potato chips, and many more, you can understand the decline in general health

My mission is to enlighten people about the complexities of health and the role of allergies, diet, and environmental factors in their wellbeing. I want to show that we all have allergies or sensitivities - even though you don’t believe you do. During my 25 years working with allergies, I found one person who did not have any allergies or sensitivities. He was from an island outside of South Florida, and grew up in the boonies, where there were no herbicides or pesticides, they grew all their food themselves, even chicken and piglets, and they were not vaccinated! That's the only person I know, who was what I would call, really healthy.
Ignorance is not bliss - knowledge is. Hypocrates said already about 2500 years ago:
“Let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food”
This is as important today as theneven more important, because then the food was not genetically manipulated, or processed and with any sugar added. Today I see so many people, especially women, who have lost their Mojo, but gained weight and brain fog Did you know that the first symptom of blood sugar imbalance is belly fat? The first test to do is to check your blood sugar levels - not only when fasting, and to deduct ten points to what the allopathic doctor says is “normal”. Did you know that tests’ average is from everyone who has taken a test, and since 91% of the population has some kind of metabolic disease - I even think it went up to 92% this year - do you believe that “normal” is normal with that average?
So, what can we do? The medical system is broken. People deserve better and it’s not their fault. The only way is to take the responsibility into our own hands, and not go to a doctor who doesn’t have time to figure out what’s wrong, or to read long reports. It’s not their fault either. They only have a few minutes with each patient, so it’s easier to send you on your way with a pill - that has side effects. So, we know that. We know that non-organic food is dangerous; full of pesticides and antibiotics.
Fast food and processed food is full of sugar, creating all kinds of illnesses starting with blood sugar imbalance, ending with maybe a heart attack or a stroke
Solution - Start eating organic foods. Yes, they may be a little more expensive and you can go to the local food market, talk to the farmers and learn how they grow their produce.
Wouldn’t it be worth it to make your own food? There are so many recipes and videos on the internet and YouTube, so you can learn quickly how to prepare food. Involve your children and teach them too, while you ’ re learning, making it fun
Cut out sugars and sweet beverages - even fruit juices! The fruit sugar goes directly out into your bloodstream, creating sugar spikes. Eat the fruit whole - slow release of sugar
The road is long and filled with challenges, especially when most don't want to give up sugar and wheat the primary carriers of harmful substances Health is a complex tapestry of genetics, environment, lifestyle, hormones, and emotional well-being.

After the last article I was planning on focusing on another form of travel people are doing more of. But after coming back from an epic Alaskan cruise, I want to talk about the health benefits of travel.
Traveling can be stressful, but once you get beyond the chaos of the airport and you get to your destination, that's when you get the health benefits.
As we trudged through the airport, waiting in line for security, sitting waiting for the plane that was delayed. Then having to do it all again going through the cruise port security and boarding
But once we got on board, we walked into our beautiful balcony room. Seeing the complimentary bar set up for us that I was not expecting. (not sure how I managed to get that, but it was a nice surprise, but not something that happens often).
We boarded our Princess cruise in Vancouver, for a 10 day cruise of the Inside passage. Once we got into our room, we sat on the deck and took a deep breath and took in the scenery. My husband was in his happy place, we had beautiful sunshine and a view of the float plane airport. Watching those planes take off and land, with a drink in hand, my husband finally started to relax, all the tension and pain from hauling all our luggage around just seemed to melt away. He said he could have sat there all day watching those planes. Now that is my husband's experience with the start of our trip. You may have other ideas of what will make all your stress and tension go away.
Traveling can have various health benefits for the mind, body and soul and taking that vacation time you have been building up over the last few years, will go a long way to reducing the stress you have been storing.
Traveling can provide a break from the routine and help reduce stress levels. Experiencing new places, cultures and activities can be refreshing and rejuvenating.
As many of us are still working from home, our activity levels have dropped unless you have consciously made time for the physical activity that our body;s need to stay healthy. Many travel activities involve physical movement such as walking or hiking tours, swimming and just exploring new exciting places.
Engaging in these activities can improve your cardiovascular health and fitness. And help control any weight gain from all the wonderful foods you get to eat.

When was the last time you picked up a physical map and used it to help you find your way As much as we rely on our GPS, it only shows you one way to get somewhere. Sometimes that one way is really not the best way or does not take to the most scenic areas which would be sad to miss There are some really cool places off the beaten path, so use a map and build up some new or old skills! Navigating unfamiliar territory can challenge your brain and improve cognitive abilities
For us, we made an effort to eat in the main dining room and stay away from the buffets. The portions are controlled but delicious! And eating what they serve you usually is more than enough. Traveling exposes you to new experiences, which can boost your mood and improve your mental wellbeing. It can also enhance your creativity and boost problem solving skills. We like to tour locations on our own and it helps our map reading skills. A skill I think that many people
Traveling often involves meeting new people, making friends and interacting with different cultures Social interactions are essential for mental health and can reduce the feelings of loneliness and isolation. We really enjoyed meeting new people and having lively conversations But just a rule when conversing with new people, keep religion and politics out of the conversations including any jokes you may find funny about those topics. Some people may not find your humour amusing. Talk about your kids, your pets, your town where you live, even your job. There are always lots of great things to talk about and learn from others.
These conversations help you to learn about other cultures and it broadens your perspective and promotes personal growth.
Traveling makes you happy! Studies have shown that the
anticipation of a trip and the experiences gained during travel contribute to increased feelings of happiness and life satisfaction. Plus you are often exposed to nature, whether it's visiting national parks, beaches or other natural wonders. Exposure to nature is linked to various health benefits, including stress reduction and improved mood, which also boosts your immune system. The nature we encountered on our trip was truly inspiring. We felt a calm we have not felt in a long time. Being in nature and breathing in the fresh air is so good for the soul. But just a friendly warning, when you are somewhere in the world where the environment is pristine. Do not ruin it by throwing away trash or feeding wild animals! I could go on and on about what people do that they shouldn't but I just want to say,
if you would not throw trash on your front porch or feed the wild animals at your home don;t do it in someone else's! It seems like such an obvious thing to say and even on board our ship the Captain explained to not do it, But some ignorant person, on the deck below me did it twice! Anyway I hope you do not encounter anyone like that on your trip. But if you do, in my opinion it is ok to correct them or to report them.
Traveling encourages you to be in the present and mindful of your surroundings, which can also lead to reduced stress, anxiety and increased sense of gratitude. And with the extra physical activities that you are engaging in will also help you sleep better. I find that in our day to day busy lives, we just don;t sleep enough and being on vacation can help you “catch up " on the sleep you have been lacking
While there are many health benefits to travel, I just wanted to mention that Covid is still a thing and while my trip was amazing, the gift I did get from it was one I did not want. And that was Covid. I ended up having to take another week off work to recover. While it hit me hard, my husband was not affected at all. So continue to think about what precautions you feel comfortable with taking.

But I asked our guide if the water is safe to drink, his response was “well it is at the Glacier but it could encounter a dead goat between here and there”.. As people stopped drinking from their water bottles they just filled up with that water.
