A Note From Bob -

It Works...

When we say that the ministries of Sheridan House “work,” we really mean that God is working in the lives of thousands a year and He allows Sheridan House to be a part of what He is doing.

A Letter from Sarah When I was sixteen, I went through a personal battle with what the world was telling me to be versus who God designed me to be according to His Word.

As you can tell by the cover picture and the “Sarah story,” our God stories are not always from the life changes taking place at the children’s homes.

Sarah was a teenager looking for direction and her mother brought her to a Sheridan House therapist.

That was the beginning of His story through Sarah. Fast forward 15 years. The story is still unfolding. Today, that teenage girl is now married and a mother of two awesome children. She is also working for the incredible ministry called First Priority.

Sarah got help that changed her life; now she’s being used by God to help change the lives of other teenagers looking for answers.

It works! And it’s working for thousands of children and individuals a year because God is in the center of our ministry.

Serving Him,

It doesn’t sound huge; but as the child of a single parent, I felt alone and needed some guidance.

As I went through a personal struggle, my sweet, godly mother was at a loss as how to help me and turned to Sheridan House for help. My mom was a Christian school teacher at the time. When she asked me to go to counseling, my first thought was “we can’t afford that!” But through the generosity of SHFM, I was given affordable Christian counseling that changed my life’s perspective. Shortly after that time, God began to take a quiet, insecure, young girl transforming me into a young woman who grew to be able to speak for Him in public.

Sheridan House was there for me and my family when I was in high school and when I graduated Sheridan House even played a part in helping me go to college.

God has used Sheridan House in my life to help take me from a timid middle school girl looking for direction to now serving in full time Christian ministry working for First Priority. Now I am giving back by guiding the next generation to Christ.

Sheridan House has been used by God to help shape His direction for my life.
