SHERIDAN HOUSE Honoring Christ by Serving the Needs of Children and Families

School at Sheridan House

We are excited that at the start of this school year, the boys transitioned from attending local public schools, to completing their classes online at Sheridan House! This new opportunity gives them access to one-onone help with their teachers, online resources, and Sheridan House staff members dedicated to individually supporting them as they learn time management, communication, and study skills. We’ve already seen huge success in their academics as one boy came to us with a 0.93 and now has a 2.92! Another young man has a 3.83!

One of the major benefits to being on property for school is consistency! A key factor in successfully modifying behavior is fair, consistent feedback and consequences, both positive and negative.

Now our Residential staff can address issues immediately, coming alongside

these young men and training them how to live with character.

Now that the boys have much shorter school days, they have the time to participate in various groups the Residential staff leads including team building exercises, life and leadership enrichment groups, and therapeutic groups with one of our licensed mental health therapists.

With all these amazing changes, we know the boys’ favorite addition to the Program: Pygmy goats! To them they are fun animals to interact with, but they’re so much more than that! These miniature goats will help teach the boys responsibility, as well as provide therapeutic companionship that only animals can give.

We look forward to how God is going to continue to work in the lives of these boys, and encourage you to partner with us through your prayers and support!

We can’t wait until the goats arrive!
