A Note From Bob I am honored and humbled to work hand in hand with the Sheridan House Board of Directors. Not only do they hold me accountable, but they also help our leadership team determine the next best step.

One of our goals for 2012 is to expand our ministry by reaching out, connecting, and sharing who we are, what we do, and why we do it with our community. Two of our board members, the outdoorsman Robert Taylor, and thrill-seeker Glenn Curran, thought it would be fun to do so through events and activities.

So, next month we are kicking off 2 new events – a Sporting Clay Tournament and Motorcycle Run. On Friday, March 2nd, you can join us in Helping Families Stay On Target. All you need to do is meet us on the course at Quail Creek Plantation in Okeechobee, FL, with your shotgun in hand. If you are a biker, put on your helmet and boots and join us on Saturday, March 24th as we go Riding to Restore a Life. Both events will provide an atmosphere of fellowship and camaraderie as we partner together to make a difference in the lives of children and families.

At our 2011 Christmas Toy Shoppe event for single moms,

God was – as always working overtime.

Kathy arrived in a borrowed car to shop for her 9 year old son. She was so thrilled to be able to select gifts for him since they had had a hard year. “If it weren’t for the Sheridan House Christmas Toy Shoppe, I surely wouldn’t be able to give him a gift this year.” Kathy, an interior designer by trade, had been out of work for a year and a half.

After she shopped designer by trade, had for free and had been out of work for a her gifts wrapped, year and a half. two elves helped her carry her gifts to her car. As Rick Weber VP of Sheridan House and Harvey Johnson Sheridan House board member placed the gifts in the car, they offered to pray with Kathy. Just before she got into the car, they asked her a simple question. “Are you working?” Kathy shook her head and explained her need for employment.

When Harvey learned of her design background, he smiled. They chatted for a bit and he asked Kathy to send her resume.

You see, Harvey is the President and CEO of Mastercraft Flooring Distributors and they were in need of a designer. Kathy forwarded her resume as requested; was called on Monday; interviewed on Tuesday; and was hired on Wednesday! God is good!

There is no doubt Harvey and Kathy experienced a divinely designed appointment that day. The Lord orchestrated their meeting. According to Harvey, the Mastercraft service team has filled an open position with “an exceptional talent” and Kathy received the blessing of a wonderful job in a Christian-run company. Join us in praying for Kathy as she develops and thrives in her new position.

In 2011, the Sheridan House Counseling Centers guided 3,123 people in breaking through and free from a variety of issues.
