A Note From Bob Leadership is a big buzz word in American media since it is a Presidential election year. It’s good because we should all know the characteristics of a strong leader. It’s bad because it shouldn’t take an election for America to focus on true leadership qualities.

It’s actually quite simple. To lead effectively, we need to lead like Jesus. In order to lead like Jesus, we need to know Him and how He would handle every situation. That’s what we teach here at Sheridan House. We present Christ and His blueprint on “how to do family in the 21st century” as we encourage, educate, and equip children and families to become leaders.

No one is a born leader! No one is born knowing how to lead a family. Leading instead of following is a basic component toward inspiring future generations and increasing the Kingdom.

Each ministry of Sheridan House is committed to training leaders God’s way. We all need to accept and embrace the special plan that God has designed for us as a member of a family and society. For too long, families have been drawn toward following the culture…and obviously that hasn’t worked.

We have a very important Presidential election coming up and we all need to be involved.

That being said, this country will never be changed in the White House. America needs parents in every house leading their family in the right direction.

What We Do & Why We Do It Last year, the ministries of Sheridan House had the privilege of sharing Biblical principles on “how to do family God’s way in the 21st century” to over 110,000 people. Our mission to honor Christ as we partner with local churches to strengthen families is carried out daily. Here’s how:

We Provide Real Answers for Real Families

Through our Parenting Today blog, radio broadcasts, and seminars we offer parents practical advice on how to raise respectful and responsible children in today’s society. Additionally, we supply the tools necessary to navigate marriage and family from a healthy, Biblical perspective.

• Resources available via social media outlets • Original marriage and family materials (podcasts, books, CDs, and DVDs) • Educational instruction through live seminars/speaking engagements at schools, corporations, and churches.

We Help People Break Through & Break Free Our two counseling centers provide professional services to couples, families, children, and individuals who are seeking real answers for real issues. Through a Counseling nonjudgmental and Biblical approach, Centers our licensed counselors respond to each person’s needs with love, honesty, respect, and integrity.

• Regain control in areas of life • Relinquish control to the Lord • Restore relationship roles in families

We Offer Hope & Meet Needs Through partnerships with local churches, our outreach to single mom-led families is two-fold. We offer single moms a helping hand through a series of training courses; and we meet a variety of needs through outreach events, vehicle donations, and financial support.

• Grocery/clothing assistance • Daily support and direction

We Restore Lives & Save Futures Our residential children’s homes are filled with middle-school aged boys and girls with behavioral and emotional issues.

Combined with our parenting education program, we are dedicated to helping the whole family become healthy, functional, and strong.

• Mandatory parent training courses • Leadership training for boys and girls by use of team captains in each home
