your EDUCATION YOUR WAY

SHELTON STATE MEETS YOU WHERE YOU ARE AND THEN TAKES you where you want to be. With a broad diversity of students and possibilities, we integrate pieces and parts of a person’s experience for a one-of-a-kind fit—education customized for you.

THROUGH SMALL CLASSES, STUDENTS DEVELOP personal relationships with instructors and other students. You’ll find the support needed for challenging courses and coaching to help you build on your strengths. Plus, flexible scheduling options allow you to design a plan that fits your life.

WITH FACULTY 100% FOCUSED ON TEACHING, THE quality of instruction at Shelton State meets or exceeds that of universities for the first two years of courses. In fact, research shows that associate degree graduates are more likely to graduate from four-year institutions than students who begin their college experience at a four-year school.

SHELTON STATE at WORK and PLAY

AS PART OF THE SHELTON STATE FAMILY, ATHLETES, FELLOW students, and faculty share in a dynamic athletics program. Student athletes describe their Shelton State experience as a place that feels like family in which team spirit in and out of the classroom moves them to success.

FOR TIM LEWIS, SHELTON STATE WAS THE STARTING LINE FOR a lifetime of achievement in athletics and in his career. Part of a conferencewinning Buccaneer basketball team as a student, he now helps coach the team. “A Buccaneer for life,” he says. But that’s not all.

After finishing at Shelton State, Tim went on to earn a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees, and he’s excelling in his career in healthcare administration.
