Chenchen Wan Chenchen Wan Education Officer My name is Chenchen WAN, I am from China, currently doing MA Language and Education at the University of Sheffield. In addition, I am also the Student Ambassador of school of Education, therefore I am more familiar with our University and Sheffield. I love Education, I used to be an English teacher and Mandarin online tutor, now I am doing the part time teaching assistant in Sheffield. Getting along with students is the most lovely thing and makes me feel very happy. I was also a member of the Student Union when I was at University in China, and then I became the head of the Sport Department, the period in the SU is the most meaningful and unforgettable time to me. Last year, I was the Student Administrative of our course. I enjoy the feeling of helping students. Working in Higher Education is my dream job, I have lots of passion for it. If I could be the Education Officer, I would try my best to provide the best service to our students. Last but not least, I was so excited when I saw this opportunity. I am eager to contribute to the University of Sheffield! Thanks everyone!

Elected Student Trustee Candidates 63

Bianca Ciocirlan Bianca Ciocirlan Elected Student Trustee Hi everyone! My name is Bianca, I am a third year Psychology student and I have been a student rep and an active volunteer in many projects organised by the Students' Union. My experience and my passion for getting involved make me a good candidate for this role. I would love to be a student trustee and have the chance to represent the students of this University and to make a small, but positive contribution to the decisions taken in the SU.

64

Brandon O’Connell Brandon O'Connell Elected Student Trustee Hi :) My name is Brandon and I’m a 2nd Year PhD Student. As an active member of the university and Students’ Union for over 7 years, I believe that I have the right insight to help make the best decisions for us as students. I have had the great privilege of holding many different roles during my time at Sheffield, which include roles on several society committees, helping to run Orientation and Freshers Week, working as a University Ambassador, and more recently helping to run the iForge Student-Led Maker-space. All these roles and more, have meant I have had to work closely with students and staff alike. As a result, I have gained a real appreciation of the inner workings of the university and the Students’ Union. I personally believe I have the ability to help make a real positive change at our university. As your Elected Student Trustee, I will ensure that any decisions made further our collective desire for a more sustainable, equal and inclusive university and ultimately benefit our diverse, international and wonderful student community.
