Service to the School and Community We believe that our school community has a responsibility to change the world we live in for the better. This outward-looking approach is reflected in the varied opportunities for Service both inside school and in the wider community. School Leadership Opportunities

Duke of Edinburgh Award
We expect our Sixth Form students to lead and set an example to their peers and younger pupils. In doing so they help to create a fun, vibrant and diversified school community.
We are proud of the wide-ranging Community Service initiatives to get involved in, in Sixth Form. These include the SHINE programme and Cool to be Clever – both of which are nationally recognised outreach initiatives to raise attainment and aspiration amongst pupils from Sheffield-based state primary schools. All Sixth Form students also complete at least 20 hours of voluntary work within the local community during the academic year, and most undertake more than this.
An integral part of our co-curricular provision, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award offers the chance to participate in expeditions in the UK and further afield, as well as ample opportunity to undertake Service activities in the local community.
Sixth Form students take on leadership roles as Prefects, and House, Sports and Subject Captains. They also have the opportunity to work as classroom assistants, mentors and club leaders in our Infant and Junior School during their free periods, all of which develop their communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
