Chaz and Ann, thank you so much for your gift to our COVID-19 Caregiver Heroes Fund! Here is an update on this important program.

As you can imagine, many of our PeaceHealth caregivers have experienced significant hardships due to the COVID-19 Pandemic “Our family's local business was forced to close March 17 and as owners we are not eligible for unemployment. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as the business provides most of our household income – my work at the clinic is typically supplemental income.”

In response, PeaceHealth developed a comprehensive approach to meet the spiritual, emotional and practical needs of our caregivers during the pandemic.

Launched in April, the COVID-19 Caregiver Heroes Fund enables us to provide financial assistance to caregivers, based on need, who have experienced direct economic hardship as a result of COVID-19. We deeply appreciate your support of this fund!

So far in 2020, Whatcom County caregivers have accessed more than $105,000 in assistance from the COVID-19 Caregiver Heroes Fund to help with housing, transportation, food, utilities, communication and childcare expenses.

Mortgage and Food Assistance for Elenore After Elenore was diagnosed with COVID-19 she was off for a month due to its severity. While Elenore is no longer contagious, she is still having a difficult time fulfilling her full-time duties as she continues to have shortness of breath when walking and talking. She reached out to the Heroes Fund for mortgage and food assistance.
