FS 2: EPISODE 1- THE TEACHER WE REMEMBER
This episode is consisting of qualities of good teachers as contained in documents such as the Philippine Professional Standards (PPSTs) and the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Framework and the code of ethics for professional teachers and about the video in YouTube 2 TEDx talks on “what makes a good teacher great” and “the power of a teacher”

REFLECTION:
As an observant I learned that all lessons must gain its objective either cognitively, affectively or in skill aspects that the student may treasure. Based on the title of the episode I think that objectives are truly the guiding star because on what I observe the resource teacher use this in choosing what will the activities to be done just to get the objective which means it acts as a guide for teachers. And because of that I can say that this lesson objectives are not forgotten because it acts asa major role in teachers lessons. I learned gained from my observation is that teachers are real heroes because they are the one who teaches students good behavior, they are also the reason why students are knowledgeable in a specific topic.

FS 2: EPISODE 2- EMBEDDING ACTION RESEARCH FOR REFLECTIVE TEACHING
This episode focuses on doing action research as one of the roles of the teacher. Every teacher should take interest to know how students learn, wants to make innovations in the curriculum and desires to improve teaching practice. To achieve these, a teacher must do action research on the everydaypractical problems. These problematic situations and observed discrepancies emerge between what is intended and what occurs in the classroom.
REFLECTION:
Action research plays an important role in the teaching and learning process because it allows the researcher, teachers/students to work on a problem, not only yielding answers to the problem but also informing theory. It empowers participants, enables change, and creates opportunities for organizational learning.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 3- UNDERSTANDING AR CONCEPTS, PROCESSES AND MODELS
This episode is all about the concepts and processes of action research, sample models of AR such as DepEd, 2017; 2017; Mcniff & Whitehead, 2006 and Nelson, 2014.

Action research has been embraced in education for its value in transforming school practices by the practitioners themselves. It is used to address practical problems in the classroom. It is a process that allows teachers to study their own classroom and school setting to improve their effectiveness. TAR is a method for educational practitioners (teachers, school leaders) to engage in the assessment and improvement of their own practice. It is a tool to help classroom teachers to consider their teaching methods or to adopt a strategy to solve everyday problem in the school setting.
REFLECTION:
As a future teacher I can say that doing action research is beneficial to students and teachers its because it helps teachers to reflect on their work and they can make improvements about it. Also, it will aid teachers in establishing a more energetic and dynamic learning environment. It is beneficial to the students because with the help of action research it can solve their problems in the classroom. Additionally, it helps them improve their selves.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:
FS 2: EPISODE 4- MATCHING PROBLEMATIC LEARNING SITUATION WITH PROBABLE ACTION
This episode is all about the matching problematic learning situationswith probable actions as solution Identifying a problem is a tricky task. Action research begins with identifying a problem. Oftentimes, it is one of the difficult things to begin with. If you observe and notice closely the teaching and learning environment in the classroom, you will discover a lot of problematic situations.
REFLECTION:
During my participation and assistantship in FS 2, I noticed some problems like some students cannot understand the teacher when she/he speaks Filipino language, I think in their homes they communicate with use of English language
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 5- PREPARING THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: AN OVERVIEW
This episode is all about the Learning Environment: An Overview. A learning environment traditionally called the classroom, is a space in a school that supports student learning. It is a self-contained area where teachers and students learn. In the classroom are chairs or tables for students and a front table for the teacher. This is a traditional face to face classroom. Most often the students should face the teacher as the chairs are arranged that way. But as teaching deliveries changed to enhance learning, modification in the seating arrangement evolved and more opportunity for the learners to move about for cooperative learning was addressed.
REFLECTION:
During our FS 2, I felt that I’m already a teacher because my resource teacher asked me a favor to assist the students. I explained the instruction of the teacher to them since some students are confused and they need help. With these, I realized that as a future teacher I should always possess empathy for my students, by understanding them will make me teach effectively. That I will always strive hard to update my knowledge and possess the competencies, and qualities of a good teacher because to teach is to touch lives of our dear students.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 6- ENHANCING FACE TO FACE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
This episode is all about the enhancing a face-to-face learning environment. In a face-to-face classroom, students and the teacher are physically present. They meet at a time set in the classroom. The teacher prepares activities, provides instruction, and evaluates students learning. Equipment and instructional materials are made available in the classroom where teaching and learning take place most of the time.

REFLECTION:
For me, I really love when the class is conducted face-to-face because it can help me focus more, unlike the online class because there are times that I am distracted, and especially if we don’t have internet connection, I will miss a lesson. It’s different when the class is face-to-face; you can see your classmates and teachers. When a teacher explains something, you can easily understand it.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 7- MAKING ONLINE OR VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT SAFE AND CONDUCIVE
This episode is all about making online or virtual learning environment safe and conducive. Education has dramatically shifted in recent years. Schools aligned in physical spaces to flexible spaces that integrate technology to support the 21st century learning opportunities. The modern learning environment incorporates the three elements: 1) connected devices such as notebooks, tablets, smart phones; 2) audio visual tools including projectors and touch screen displays and 3) purposeful furniture such as standing desks, collaborative workstations and connected seating that allow students to learn in different ways at different times.
The online learning environment requires a constant access to connectivity which allows learning to take place anytime, anyplace, and anywhere. Online or virtual learning can be delivered synchronously or asynchronously, so the teacher’s role is a moderator between the technology and the students.

REFLECTION:
As a future teacher I feel that the on-line learning environment can be safe if we know how to use it properly the different technology tools. Also, if we are aware that this kind of tool is harmful to our computers or cellphones. Once we are aware we already know what to do. Therefore, we should be careful in using technology for us to be safe. I think that teaching in a virtual learning environment is fun and interesting because I will be able to present my lessons using a variety of software apps and online tools. I can say that teaching in a virtual environment is also challenging because you can face my hindrances like internet connectivity.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:
FS 2: EPISODE 8- ESTABLISHING MY OWN CLASSROOM ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES IN A FACE TO FACE/ REMOTE LEARNING
This episode is all about classroom routines and procedures before using and after classes in a face to face or in a remote learning. Routines are the backbone of daily classroom life. They facilitate teaching ang learning. Routines don’t just make the life teacher easier. They save valuable classroom time. Efficient routines make it easier for students to learn and achieve more. Establishing routines early in the school year enables us to run our daily activities; ensures that we manage time effectively; helps us maintain order in the classroom; makes us more focused in teaching because we spend less time in giving instructions

REFLECTION:
I learned while doing this episode, it gives me a general idea of how to interact with my students while implementing the routines and procedures that have been developed. Moreover, I learned some techniques on how to get the attention of the students. As a future teacher one of the attitudes, I should have is to be patient at all times. I learned this because I have able to experience lots of things during our fs 1.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:
FS 2: EPISODE 9- CREATING MY CLASSROOM/ REMOTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
This episode is all about creating classroom/ remote learning management plan. A classroom management plan is a plan that a teacher designs that sets those expectations for every student. The purpose of a classroom management plan is to make the students accountable for their actions. Effective classroom management increases students’ success enhances students’ academic skills and competencies and promotes social and emotional development.
REFLECTION:
My realization after creating and implementing my classroom/ remote learning management plan is that I understand the importance of having a classroom management strategy. It will not only remind students of their school responsibilities but it also assist in the development of the students mind in order for them to have a good moral character.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS2: EPISODE 10- WRITING MY LEARNING/ LESSON PLANS
This episode is all about writing my learning/lesson plans. Lesson plan this refers to the blueprint of the daily teaching and learning activities. It is a step-by-step guide which helps teachers in maintaining the quality of instructions. Lesson plans consist of essential components such as learning outcomes, learning content, resources, and procedures. There are three types of lesson plans: detailed, semi detailed and brief. The department of education has provided templates for Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) and DLL. This was done to institutionalize instructional planning which is vital to the teaching and learning process.

REFLECTION:
Lesson planning is an integral part of the instructional cycle because it is the guide of the teacher on how they will start and end their discussion. It will be easy for them to teach students. Additionally, teacher will be able to know what instructional strategy should be used.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 11- DELIVERING MY LESSONS
This episode is all about delivering my lessons. Instructional delivery it refers to the interaction among the students, the teacher and the content for students to learn the knowledge/skills/dispositions that they will need for further learning and for collaborating with others in a diverse society and rapidly changing world. the mode of delivery is an important consideration when designing learning activities that will support students to develop the skills, knowledge and understandings required to achieve the intended learning outcomes, which will be assessed. The delivery of instruction must also be responsive and relevant to the needs of the times.
REFLECTION:
In delivering a lesson it is important that you’d know how to catch the attention of the students so that you can make sure that they can understand the discussion. As a teacher, its not enough to talk or to read the presentation but also you need to be creative in delivering the topic.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 12- SELECTING NON-DIGITAL OR CONVENTIONAL RESOURCES AND INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS
This episode is all about selecting non digital or conventional resources and instructional materials. We choose the most appropriate or suitable resources or instructional materials based on our lesson objectives or learning outcomes. Even when technology-based educational materials abound, the teacher still needs to be competent in selecting and developing resources and materials that are not ICT-based. Teachers should know how to be resourceful in tapping non-digital or conventional resources and materials available in the area and situation.
REFLECTION:
It’s always preferable to be well prepared in selecting and developing resources/instructional materials in the teaching and learning process since its crucial to select the appropriate resource materials. It makes classes more engaging and straightforward. Moreover, it allows teachers to communicate topics more clearly.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 13- UTILIZING APPLICATIONS (APPS) FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING
This episode is all about utilizing applications for teaching and learning. An app is a kind of software which can be installed in various gadgets-a desktop, laptop, smartphone, and tablet. There are thousands of apps each with specific functions. A wide range of functions among others includes, ordering food, getting a ride, getting a date, doing bank transaction, and even praying and meditating. The judicious use of apps can make the teaching learning process more effective, efficient, and equally important, more fun and satisfying for both teacher and the students. The teacher can use apps in the different stages of planning, preparation, implementation, and assessment.
REFLECTION:
I believe that I can organize and implementing an ap in the teaching and learning process. I can say that can easily learn how to use an app but there are also things that I need to learn like for example in choosing an appropriate app for a certain topic, I should know how to relate it to my discussion

EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 14- UTILIZING LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
This episode is all about utilizing learning management system. A virtual classroom is usually supported by a platform generally regarded as a learning management system (LMS) in a flexible learning modality involving online learning. LMS is a course organizer software. It helps teachers plan, create, manage, and deliver online education programs. The most common ones are the canvas, Moodle, google classroom, blackboard, Microsoft teams, seesaw, and our local one is genyo.
REFLECTION:
I must prepare myself in applying learning management system so that I will be able to teach my students how to properly use the educational apps. I should practice utilizing learning management systems because we are in the generation that kids nowadays are computer literate, it’s embarrassing that they are better than me.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 15- UTILIZING WEB CONFERENCING APPS FOR SYNCHRONOUS E LEARNING
This episode will focus on synchronous sessions. In order to hold synchronous classes, you will need to use web-conferencing apps. LMS already have these embedded; some do not. You will need to know how to access, evaluate and utilize the features and functions of apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft teams, Skype, Blackboard, WebCT, and even Messenger.
REFLECTION:
I must prepare myself in conducting classes online because we are not sure if it is safe to always meet the students in face-to-face because there is still covid and its important to always be ready because prevention is better than cure.

EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 16- ASSESSING FOR, AS AND OF LEARNING
Three phrases on assessment that we have met in our Assessment courses are assessment for learning, Assessment as learning and assessment of learning. Assessment for learning is more known as formative assessment while assessment of learning is called summative assessment. Several authors claim assessment as learning as self-assessment. This episode is concerned mainly with assessment for learning as assessment as learning. It touches a little on assessment of learning which is the focus of the next episode. The phrase “assessment as learning” implies that assessment itself is already an opportunity for learning. It is learning by itself, indeed, when students engage in self-assessment, reflect on their own assessment results and make necessary moves to ensure learning.
REFLECTION:
Assessment is an integral part of instruction as it determines whether the goals of education are being met. Assessment affects decisions about grades, placement, advancement, instructional needs, curriculum and in some cases funding. Today’s world, students need to know not only the basic reading and arithmetic skills but also skills that will allow them to face a world that is continually changing.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 17- USING TRADITIONAL AND AUTHENTIC TYPES OF ASSESSMENT FOR AND FORMATIVE AND SUMMATIVE PURPOSES
This episode is all about the traditional and authentic types of assessment for and formative and summative purposes.
REFLECTION:
As a future teacher, to make the assessment process more meaningful and acceptable to the students. I must be aware of the level of understanding of students so that I cam know what questions to prepare.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 18- GRADING AND REPORTING
In this episode, you will interpret scores correctly, compute grades based on the DepEd grading system and report grades to parents/guardians during Parents Teachers Conference.
REFLECTION:
It is said that students should not study only for scores nor grades. Students should study most of all for learning. It is possible for students to obtain high scores and good grades but did not really learn that much. What is ideal is for students to get high scores and good grades because they really learned a lot. Our world of employment, scholarship grants, etc. still look at grades as criteria for hiring and screening for scholarships. So, grades have pragmatic value. Therefore, it is best that students work for good grades that genuinely reflect level of mastery.
EVIDENCE/DOCUMENTATION:

FS 2: EPISODE 19- WRITING AN INITIAL ACTION RESEARCH PLAN
In this final episode, the task is to write an initial action research plan. Any research action plan should be planned and written well. Put together what I’ve learned about action research and all the insights I’ve gained in working on the past FS 2 episodes.
REFLECTION:
Planning is an important skill that every teacher should have. Just like lesson planning, doing research requires a doable plan. It sets a direction where one is going, how to go there, why should one go there, and above all, what is there to accomplish. The goal of making action research is to improve the learning of students.
