Sterling Police officers search a wooded area near West 23rd Street this morning. They were looking for a man who CVS employees said went to the store’s pharmacy with a small knife and demanded a drug. He was given a bottle of hydromorphine, employees told police. Shortly afterward, Sterling Police arrested Robert L. Collins, 31, of Rock Falls, in the wooded area south of the store.

Employees say he threatened worker with small knife to the Whiteside County Jail. Police were told by CVS employees that a man went to the store’s pharmacy about 9:23 a.m. with a small knife and demanded a drug while threatening a pharmacy employee. “The subject went into the business and walked around for a bit, and then went to the pharmacy, and basically said if he didn’t get the drug he asked

It’s Game Night in Dixon

DIXON – The fifth annual Donnie Melendrez Game Night memorial fundraiser, a benefit for Peoria St. Jude Children’s Cancer Center, will be held Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 506 W. STERLING – Rock n’ Stroll, a benefit to help young artists at the Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA’s Community Learning Center travel to the Chicago Art Institute, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Northland Mall, 2900 E.
