Farewell, my friends — You will be missed! Dear LCCOA Friends, It is my sincere wish for you all, to be happy, healthy and well. I write to you today, my very last “article,” to say farewell to you all. My time here has come to an end as I venture off for new beginnings on a whole new career path, an offered opportunity I can’t pass up. By the time you are reading this I will be gone: My last day was set for Friday, May 27, 2022. I have assisted so many of you through the years and many of you have left imprints on my heart, and will never be forgotten. As a small agency we get to know people pretty well, and I’ve come to know you as friends and family, not just as clients and someone to serve. I’ve grown here, been promoted and offered new opportunities, these of which allowed me to excel as a person, as your Elder Benefits Specialist, your Assistant Director, and hopefully as someone you have felt comfortable with from day one. I’ve lost friends along the way; clients, co-workers, colleagues, all of whom touched my life in some way. I’ve also gained so much, from each person I’ve met along the way, to those I’ve helped to save money, taught the basics of Medicare too, helped find a prescription plan, connected them with services, and provided an outlet for emotions to flow. Those who’ve given me praise and those who provided constructive criticism. You’ve helped me, as
My next chapter begins, but the words already written will not be forgotten. I won’t lose sight of who I am or who I want to be because each of you has ingrained a special spark within me ... You’ve lifted me up on my bad days and many of you have shared in my successes and growth, and good days. Thank you. You will be missed. Samantha Harazin much as I’ve helped you, and in some ways, maybe more. You filled my life with purpose, passion and a desire to be better, live better and work harder. A mission to help fight for what is right, to stand up for those who may not be able to stand up for themselves, and to protect you as I would protect my own family when I was able. You have given my life meaning outside of my family and you’ve allowed me to be me, all while doing this. You’ve provided me the platform I’ve needed to get to this point in my life: A place that I can now help to protect someone’s future in a whole new way from what I do now. My next chapter begins, but the words already written will not be for-
gotten. I won’t lose sight of who I am or who I want to be because each of you has ingrained a special spark within me. Thank you. You’ve made me feel like a person and not just a “worker drone,” you’ve lifted me up on my bad days and many of you have shared in my successes and growth, and good days. Thank you. You will be missed, but perhaps one day we will cross paths again. To my agency family, both past and present, thank you for all you’ve done to help contribute to my successes, learn from my failures, and be present in mind to stand up and keep giving it my all. We spend much of our lives with our work families — often more than our home families — and that can sometimes trying, especially in a small agency like ours. In spite of the differences in personalities, backgrounds, race, religion, or anything you can comprise, we have prevailed to build an agency family and to draw strength from one another. I wish for LCCOA to continue to grow in success, strength and financial stability and to be here for the future, even if I’m not able to be a part of it. This center has been around long before I got here and will be here long after I’ve gone,. I just hope I’m able to leave a small imprint on the people I’ve met along the way. For all you’ve done for me, thank you. Very Truly Yours, Samantha Harazin
