Keystone Laboratories and Progress Industries were recognized as well as Avalanche Composites, which received the Jim Tyler Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Executive Director of NDC Frank Liebl offered a welcome to the more than 90 business leaders in attendance and Levi Pence, chair of the NDC Board introduced the three recipients. “Each one of you here today represents a business in this community and through your efforts you are making New-

Keystone Laboratories opened in Newton in 1990 as a quality testing facility by owners Jeff King and his wife, Jodi. The company analyzes drinking water, waste water, groundwater, soil and solid/hazardous waste with a growing staff of 45 employees. Since opening, Keystone has acquired labs in Waterloo as well as Kansas City, Kan. In 2013, Keystone analyzed 77,551 samples performing 214,158 individual analyses on the samples. Carol Warren, vice presi-
