By Pat Szpekowski and have been driven to public service due to their passion and support for the Village, its residents and the community. held by Village Trustees Pam Parr, Luis Perez, and Judy Sollinger, whose terms expired in 2021. Below is information about each of the new Village Trustees, why they felt compelled to run for office, and what are their specific goals as they serve the residents of the Village.

Guist and his wife, Carol, a real estate broker, have been in Oswego for 20 years. He works in the civil/ environmental consulting industry at AKT Peerless in Naperville and oversees offices in Cleveland and Atlanta. They have three children, all of which have gone through Community Unit School District 308. He and Carol have volunteered throughout the 20 years through the Oswegoland Park District, high school band and marching band programs, Panther soccer, Team Oswego gymnastics, Delta Aquatics and several high school sports.

A resident of Oswego since 2001 along with her husband Don and adult children Stephen and Erin, Jones Sinnott was compelled to run for the office of Village Trustee because she cares deeply about the community. Her goal is to make a positive impact by expanding the economic base with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility and the commitment to tax less and spend less while growing the Village. She also seeks to collaborate with all intergovernmental partners and deliver services to residents and business efficiently.

Kuhrt has much pride and a strong passion for the Village of Oswego. He has been a resident of Kendall County for many years and he and his wife have lived in Oswego for over five years.

He has been a proud member of the Oswego Planning & Zoning Commission (PZC) for the past two years before his election as a Village Trustee. He became involved with Planning & Zoning because of his interest in development and engineering and a desire to give back to the community. “Witnessing the momentum over my time on the PZC and understanding the mega projects (new water source and Wolf’s Crossing expansion, to name a few), I felt my experience would be beneficial to the Village as it continues to grow,” he said. “My goal is to use my experience to help move these projects forward and continue development in the Village and downtown in ways that benefit the Village financially and brings a sense of pride to the residents.” www.oswegochamber.org
