The best part of summer is escaping to the fresh outdoors. It’s a time to get up and go and enjoy a variety of novel things to do. Mark your calendars and look no farther for a fun time than taking part in these two favorite local events sponsored by the Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce. The popular Annual Golf Outing is set to take place “fore” golf, networking, and more on Thursday, July 29, 2021 with a noon shot-gun start at Fox Bend Golf Course, Oswego’s welcoming and challenging public course with spectacular views. While some safety protocols have been relaxed, the chamber is working to make this a safe and successful event for all. “We are thankful for the opportunity to present this popular chamber community event again this year with the support of our dedicated sponsors and golfers,” said Angie Hibben, IEM, president/CEO, Oswego Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s always an enjoyable time for everyone celebrating a wonderful day on the golf course with business associates and friends.” Cost for the outing is $130 per individual golfer; $140 if registered after July 15. The day includes golf, lunch, dinner, twodrink tickets, refreshments, prizes, and much more. If enjoying a leisurely stroll, sipping beverages, eating snacks, and taking in tunes is more your style, the 4th Annual Spirits on the Farm on Saturday, August 21, 2021 is a must to attend. Spirits is a collaboration between the Oswego Chamber of Commerce and the Kendall County Fairgrounds in Yorkville. It’s been a big hit with those who have attended in the past and a win-win time featuring the best of Illinois Distilleries, food trucks, artisans, and music. “I encourage the community to come out to Spirits,” said Keith Moore, owner of Black Dog Distillery in Plainfield and current chair of the Oswego Area Chamber. “It’s a great way to help support our local distilleries, which have not had the opportunity in over a year to showcase their products.” Black Dog Distillery specializes in custom hand-crafted flavored rums and vodkas, including its popular Lavender Vodka. Break out those sunglasses and golf clubs and get ready for a fun summer with family and friends.
